Hey Guys, Idea time. Maybe on the new server we could have a team system to increase community involvement, where at spawn we have two redstone lamp scoreboards (I could make these), one for red team, and one for blue, and have the current members and new members evenly split between the two teams. Them whenever we have an event like a build contest or a UHC, whoever wins will earn one point for their team, and every month or so the team with the highest score will get a reward. Just an idea
Yes, the server is going to be reset, as soon as we can upgrade to 1.8.
Everyone is permitted to take 1 double chest of items with to the new world, but nobody can access them until after we beat the end-dragon (so no direct access to OP equipment!). As for builds, I will be making the entire current world available for download. Some impressive builds are being moved to skylands for posterity, but the staff will be moving a lot of other builds into the new world, hidden out in the far reaches as "easter eggs".
If you have a build you want saved as a museum piece, let the staff know and they will move it to skylands. If you want your builds to be put as part of the server landscape, send mash, blondy, or I a message with the coordinates and we will hide it somewhere in the new world.
Of course, if you are a new user (pro rank or below) we will copy any small bases you have just started working on right into the new world, so you don't have to start from scratch just after joining.
This reset is taking place to make sure we have 1.8 blocks within a reasonable distance from spawn, and just to clear out some of our absolutely MASSIVE world size. As always, as soon as we come back up online there is no limit on world size or exploration limit. We will not have another reset unless there is some other massive world-changing update, and even then we are developing a tool that will "clean" the unbuilt chunks in the world rather than having to reset the whole thing.

I'm looking for a 1.8 server that will have a active base and this server seems perfect.I think I can really bring a lot to the server. I have run 6 servers before so I won't pressure or argue with the owner if something goes wrong. I am a frequent hermitcraft viewer so I can have conversations with people about the series. If I was going to compare myself to someone on the server I would have to say Xsumia, while my personality is more like a funnier Mumbo.

What makes a server good in your opinion? Its all in the community. Without a good community a server is nothing.
