ok, i think ill switch to intel again. i had originally picked an intel build, but my friend said AMD is decent and hell of a lot cheaper than intel. so here is my (latest) intel build which i think is quite nice.

CPU: intel i5-2500K sandy bridge 3.3ghz (3.7 turbo boost)
MOBO: ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard (how reliable is this company?)
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 (reason for 8GB is because i host my minecraft server on my computer, more ram is always nice)
GPU: HIS H687F1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
CASE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021 link so you can see it, and check out all the specs
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive (when it says bare drive, what exactly does this mean?)
OPTICAL DRIVE: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM (does OEM mean its bad, ive never quite grasped the concept of OEM)

its quite a bit more than what i was expecting to spend, but it was only like 150 bucks more, which isnt that big a deal, ill just have to spend a bit more time working, thats all.

posted a message on Custom guns
Hi, i am requesting a coder to make a very simple gun mod that allows customization of the guns. this is not going to be the next SDK's, but simply a mod with say 2 or 3 guns and a few attachments such as sights, grips etc. the reason for this is because it would mix COD elements and MC, 2 of my favorite games.

if you agree to help, id do all the drawing, if you tell me how (like what programs to use, how to make sure its the right size etc.) i just need you to do the coding for me.

here is an outline for what you would be doing, should you accept:

    the guns:
-M4, 3 round burst, 30 round mag, 2 damage per bullet (6 per burst)
-M16, semi auto, 20 round mag, 4 damage per bullet
-M1911, semi auto, 8 round mag, 3.5 damage per heart

launchers (if these are harder to make due to them needing to blow up stuff, let me know, but i would think you could possibly tweak the TNT code a smidge)
    -AT4, 5 block explosion radius, 10 damage
-RPG, 3 block explosion radius, 8 damage

    attachments (if these are possible)
-ACOG (for M4, M16) will have a slight zoom, i can draw (hopefully) a reticule, if not we could just make a black circle with the standard reticule in the center
-Laser (M4, M16, M1911) with project a dot where the reticule is pointed, i have no idea if this is possible though. basically it is for close-range so you can see where the gun is aimed. comes in red and green variants.
-Suppressor (M4, M16, M1911) will reduce sound, muzzle climb and flash.

which leads me to sound. i have no idea how to code sound, how to make sound, or anything at all with sound. its not a necessity, but would be a cool feature. im sure we would be able to just find the sounds for the guns on the internet and the suppressor would just make the gun softer, not actually change the sound. again, this is not necessary, but just something that would be cool.

thanks for reading and i hope someone steps up to the plate or gives me advice on how to code this.

i will do all graphics, unless you want to.

also, the attachments would (preferably) actually show up on the gun. for example, an M4 without an ACOG would have standard sights but if you put the ACOG and the M4 in the crafting grid the new M4 would have the ACOG attached and you could actually see it. basically its like COD, you add something and it gets reflected on the gun.

is it worth spending the extra 15 bucks (most likely more) and getting the i5 2500K, im sure newegg has a package.

also, this processor is 200 bucks, its got 6x512KB L2 cache, 6MB L3 cache and the package is cheap, has 8GB ram

well the main reason im getting these particular items is because its part of a combo deal, only 700 bucks in all. what would i need to buy to get more than 100FPS, and i dont think a SDD would make MC run faster, would it?

Hi everyone, i am building a new computer and I was just wondering what everyone thought of these parts. Any known conflicts with the parts, quality issues etc. are more than appreciated. Here is my latest intel build. (i know, im so indecisive)

    Parts:
    -CPU: intel i5-2500k

    -GPU: undecided.

-MOBO: ASUS P8P67 (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

    -RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

-CASE: COOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel + Plastic and Mesh Bezel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

-HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive (what does bare drive mean?)

-PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.2 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply (corsair is good brand right?)

-COOLING: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible Intel Core i5 & Intel Core i7

-CD/DVD thingy: LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS424-98 LightScribe Support

will this be able to run MC without lag, if not, what should i buy? i will be running Windows 7 64-bit premium edition (i think its that, i forget, but its $150 for a pack of 3, so me and my 2 friends are splitting the costs). also, if you might know, will this be able to at least, at the minimum, play BF3?

the total price is a good deal of cash in USD dollars. do you guys think this is a good build, for the price at least?

well ive cut corners, i realized my build was really over kill.

9/11 was real...everyone saw the freakin aircraft hit the building. the steel didnt have to MELT it just had to be WEAKENED....

heres an example for all you idiots. take a stick of butter out of the fridge and slice it with a knife. the butter puts up some resistance right. now soften it a bit and try again, notice how its a lot easier. steel didnt have to MELT, the fact that it was weakened cause it to LOSE structural integrity, meaning its not at 100% strength.

again, take a piece of butter, cold out of the fridge, and balance books on it, and i mean a good deal of hard cover books, and it should stay up if you balanced it right. now start warming the butter, eventually it will collapse and it wont have fully melted. so see, you dont need something to melt completely for it to collapse.

keep in mind the towers weighed tons and tons and tons, so if it lost its strength, it was going down.
