Too bad that there aren't many fun multiplayer java games that I know of (besides minecraft because the school blocks their website which is used for validation). If there are any good Java games that are multiplayer, it'd be nice since I could just host it on a website for all to use.

OK well they use Sonicwall and I think they use the factory settings. Except they blocked keyword Halo because I uploaded Halo to google drive and everyone was downloading it (our school got a grant for computers, bought a ton of macs with ty HDD's).

I'm aware that the games would have to be downloaded onto peoples computers, it would just be a way for people to access them without torrent clients etc. My upload speed is good enough (25Mbps) so IDK. I might just buy cheap flash drives and sell them to people :)

Hi guys I have a quick little question for you guys.

Lets say I was to use my computer as a file server of sorts to host video games (demos and stuff) that would be played at school. My fellow students and I are allowed to play these games (usually) but the school gets real y about storage on the Macs ('10 version, desktops with like 80GB HDD's). If I turned my computer into a file server hosting the files, would people be able to access them from school without me needing a domain?

What exactly is the point of this? You could never get that in real survival and no mob would ever have enough hearts to even warrant needing that much damage...

Why is everyone acting like this is actually a feature? It would be a very interesting mod (and I don't think it would be too difficult). Maybe if I feel like it, I'll code it.

Hate to brake it to you guys, but Minecraft is a heavily CPU-based game. Most modern games make use of GPU processing with features such as DX and what not. Yes Minecraft uses OpenGL for rendering, but the way most of the calculations for the game are done, it makes it very CPU demanding. I'm not saying that a good graphics card won't benefit MC, but a good CPU is also a must for running Minecraft. You know why jungles get worse FPS than everywhere else? Because Notch coded leaf-decay algorithms in a ty, unoptimized way. Could I do it better? Probably not, but it's still very unoptimized. The calculations get called on every leaf, every tick. Imagine in a jungle with 300+ leaves at once being checked if they need to decay or not?

This might belong in the tech section but I'll ask it here anyways.

For those of you that don't know, while Halo 4 shipped with episodes 1-5 on disc, episodes 6-10 were downloaded all at once (2.2GB). Now each episode is released one at a time every week. My question is would it be possible to edit some files or something to gain early access? I mean the files for episodes 6-10 are already on your Xbox. They aren't downloaded every week. So is that how it works?

I'm 99% sure that it doesn't because of the way that Xbox secures content etc but I was just wondering if people thought it would be possible.

I honestly don't think a technology company has any place in the shoe industry. Not really sure why Apple would decide on making this move.

So in programming, would a matrix be an array basically? Not quite sure I get the concept of their usage in 3D programming.

I wonder if the pillar blocks work like tree trunks, so that you can get the lines to be horizontal if needed...

That would make me so angry. I personally HATE the new log placing mechanics. It's a pain to build my wooden frames now...

Battle rifle from the halo 2/3 games. While I love the BR in halo 4, it just doesn't feel the same.

I will also say that I love every single human sniper in all the halo games (except in CE, I suck at timing my shots due to delay).

Well there isn't a point in calling comcast since we will have fios on the 8th. I'm just curious as to why the wires being damaged only affects my computer. Wires go into house in the basement, up to second floor study modem which connects straight to router. If it were an issue with the cables, wouldn't no one have Internet?
