ok I have changed my compresion program to winRAR i can copy over modloader and minecraft forge and mine craft works perfectly but if I try either of the methods I have read of installing industrial craft(copy into minecraft.jar or extract to the mods folder) i get a black screen, and forced close after the mojang screen. what am I doing wrong now?

It's your archiving program. Get another archiving program (like winrar, winzip, 7zip) and do a fresh install with it.

great thanks for that now ModLoaderMp 1.0.1 Server is causing a black screen am I useing the wrong thing?
