I get a lot of see through chunks that load late making it look like xray. Not so bad cause I try to get a peak at whats below before the chunks load correctly. Hopefully optifine will be updated soon after since my laptop struggles with framerates.

Dec 28, 2015gyekaj posted a message on Minecraft Now 9th Best Selling Game of All Time on Nintendo eShopPosted in: News
The console version is closer to the PC version than it ever has been, and think about all the people that have heard of minecraft but do not have a PC to play it on. I can imagine that many of the people buying minecraft on the Wii-U are those parents that do not want there younger kids on PC or xbox/PStations since those consoles are marketed to the 16 and older crowd. I have the PC and Xbox version. My son introduced me to minecraft on the xbox and that lead me to getting it for the PC. Like Floweren's coment above, I like the PC version much more, but now the consoles are basically version 1.8.8 and matches the PC until the 1.9 update is out. The upcoming Nintendo NX will have a mobile unit which would be great for the fans of a mobile minecraft version that is better than pocket edition. Nintendo obviously has a relationship with microsoft now so us Nintendo and Minecraft fans look forward to seeing what it will be like on the new Nintendo system.

Jun 20, 2013gyekaj posted a message on MCX360 Retail Disc Now Available! The disc is going to allow those people without internet to have the game but it cannot be updated unless you have LIVE. If you do not have internet, then this will allow you to play the game as it is now which is great. We have been spoiled by MOJANG with all these updates after only spending $20. How many $40+ dollar games do we have that never get updates?? I have several. I am glad to see it out on disc so everyone can get a taste of some creeper action!! lol I can remember those first times in a dark mine getting startled by some skeleton or creeper. Multiplayer will work the same whether it is on disc or downloaded version. I think you could install the disc version on the harddrive and store the disc if you are worried about scratches. OR just take care of the disc..what an original concept...Posted in: News

I didn't think about those games but you are right. My son and I will play some Mario kart still and I have thought about redownloading Half Life 2, but I have never put in the hours on those games that I have with Minecraft. The point I was making is that we don't get update after update on those games like minecraft. We have to buy the next version of the game for the updated content even though that has changed with many games adding patches and DLC the last several years.

I can always find something that is not in a game and complain about it. The wonderful thing about minecraft is that if you want it in the game, you can mod it and add it in. I personally cannot do this, but have seen some amazing mods/resource packs etc.. that put tons more blocks in the game. I like trying to figure out how to make things work with the given blocks rather than say that I don't like it because it doesn't place vertically( like the slabs). I have seen some creative people use stairs in ways I would never think of. Some of the detailed builds are like amazing and completely vanilla. I think the enchantments can be modded fairly easily since I have seen servers with all kinds of enchantments that are way more OP than vanilla. I tend to play minecraft in different ways when I get tired/bored with it. For example, I have been playing faction servers lately (saicopvp) and (mafiacraft). A favorite server of mine will reset their skyblock soon( AWNW.net ) and I will grind on skyblock for a few weeks or so. Survival servers will be reseting to 1.9 when all of the plugins get updated and I will play survival. You can play any minigame imaginable on many different servers or just build in creative with friends. Each time I get into a rut and am bored with it, I just quit for few days or play a different "version" of minecraft. Thats why the game has been so popular even if some fans are complaining about it. It is the only game I have on multiple platforms (PC, XBOX, IPAD) I would get it on Wii U if they will support the gamepad local multiplayer so one person can see their point of view on the TV and other through gamepad. I have donated to servers to support them and I see thousands of others doing the same. I don't think everyone is unhappy about minecraft but you will always hear about those venting online.

People complain because they do not like change. The PVP'ers like the old spam click PVP cause it is exciting and fast paced. The 1.9 PVP is more bow oriented and slower paced with the change in the click rate. I like the 1.9 combat because it adds a challenge in survival. I cannot spam click because I have lag so the new pvp helps me even though I am still bad at it. I have watched pvp battles that last forever because of constant gaps/pearling/pots. I would rather the battles be shorter and more strategy oriented with bows and melee combat. Any new updates receive criticism since people are more likely to vent rather than praise. Its just the way social media and the internet works for people. I read tons more hateful messages than positive ones. We should be thankful Mojang has done what they have with this game we love so much. It could have stopped back at the survival/nether update but they decided to keep updating. Mojang gave us a launcher that allows us to play the old versions if that is what we like. I see many servers that use parts of 1.7 (cannoning physics) mixed with 1.8 and they make it work for the community. Mojang gives modders codepacks that allow them to make add ons and minigames galour. This is a game that is still popular after 6-7 years of release. There isn't many other games that can say that after 1 year much less 5 or more.

Whoever creates the world on their Wii U would have to have their console on. What some console users do is keep the "host" console on even if they are not playing so the guests could play. The world would have to be saved by the host each time before shutting console off so you do not lose stuff you made.

I forgot to mention that the server has dynamap as well so you can check out builds all over the map. The skyblock dynamap is especially interesting since it is amazing what people can build when starting with nothing!!

I will be 42 this summer and enjoy gaming just as I did 30 years ago. I play mostly survival and have been on the best server for older and young alike. the server website is http://www.awnw.net/ and is owned by a married couple who do their best to run a grief free whitelist server. They have several game modes to get on like survival, sky block, creative, pixelmon and later this month a hardmode server will be starting back up. You will get the best welcoming by the players when you first get onto the server. Many of the players are older and love to help each other. A building competition is held a few times a year that players can enter and win gift codes for use on the server. The server IP is mc.AWNW.net. The owners have a good staff that make sure there is no grief. Any grief no matter how small is dealt with quickly and fairly. Come and check out the server when you have time and see what you think.

Favorite aspect of SMP gameplay: getting ideas from others and helping others with builds, exploring etc..
Least favorite aspect of SMP gameplay: servers that die out after you have spent hours getting established, and of course...griefers
