[*** WHAT IS BETTER THAN WOLVES? ***]
Better Than Wolves is a "total conversion". This differs from most mods that you are probably used to in that it changes many of the rules of play to provide a richer experience, rather than just adding in new stuff. What makes it special however, is that it always attempts to do so in a way that retains the original spirit of the game, perhaps even more so than the newer official releases.
It focuses both on challenging survival play, and player creativity in terms of never providing "magic block" solutions to in game problems. Instead, it provides basic tools and leaves it to the player to figure out how to use them to get the job done.
In short, Better Than Wolves is a vision of what Mincraft could have been, designed by a very serious player, for other like minded individuals.

It's not meant for force fields yeh, but that's what people will use it for. This is what happens when you implement a "solution" to a problem without thinking about possible consequences first.

It's a case of sheep following the leader. They see FC being tough and not taking crap from anyone, so they adopt their leader's attitude. That attitude is fine if it's just the leader since they have actual power, but when it spreads through the ranks of the minions it gets kinda ugly...

When I first built it I waited there overnight and ended up with about 4 stacks of gunpowder, but the last couple of nights I've only managed to collect 15 gunpowder in total. So I went and got an xray mod to see if mobs were spawning in there, and it seems they were, but in smaller numbers, and instead of moving around and falling into the channels they just stay completely still. So I tried sticking snow golems in there to get them moving but skeletons kill them fairly quickly even when they are protected with fences.
The surrounding caves are all lit up, and I double checked with the xray and nothing is spawning in them, so I'm thinking the cause might be a buggy plugin or something. However I'm not an admin and the admins there are pricks that won't acknowledge problems with their server when everyone is bugging them about it.
So does anyone have any idea what might have changed or gone wrong with the server or trap to cause this?

The graphic needs frowny faces of course >.>
CCTV conflicts with a *lot* of mods, it's something kaevator needs to fix not the zeppelin peeps.

He should just call it the stargate mod and be done with it then. But if he's trying to make his own original creation I'd be coming up with original names. Still like I said (and you guys seem to be ignoring) copyright isn't the issue with me...it's the lack of originality.
And I challenge any of you to prove lack of originality in an supposedly original idea is a good thing.
Better yet, find an example where it's good (with the obvious exception of parodies/satire)

Needs frowny faces.

At least your ideas are original.
Dr Mackay there is still ripping ideas from Stargate.
(yes I have watched every episode, no you can't slip something past me)

Well from my point of view it's more a discussion of originality. The copyright stuff is just for encouragement, I don't know the specifics. Though I would think that stuff like remaking atlantis is just fan art, where as creating a new game almost wouldn't get away with it that easily. Especially not when modding minecraft is technically illegal in the first place (I'm definitely not against that though)

Drone pad - "copied straight from Stargate" < your own words
Ion Cannon - Command and Conquer 4
MAC guns - Halo novels (but likely not copyrighted)
Naquadah - Stargate
Zero Point Module - Stargate
Trinium - Stargate
And that's just from a quick skim over the OP.
Plus there's a bunch of other terms which arn't copyrighted but I'm sure you could think of something more original. Eg: sub-light engines, hyperdrive, life sign detector.
But I don't understand why you are angry, like I said I don't care. But feel free to have a nerd rage fit if you want to.
On a different note, if you're gonna implement the drone pad you will need to nerf it considerably. In stargate a single drone can pwn any ship no matter the size, and drones seems to be able to take down more than 1 ship too (though it's never done in the series, you often see them just blast right through a ship then turn around for another go, which suggests it could be re-targeted to another ship instead)
Although you could keep the normal power of drones if they can only be used as the ultimate spawn point defence weapon, to stop people from spawn camping newbies. Would be a nice alternative to just having a protected area around the spawn, and stops invaders from completely taking over someone elses server.

Also there may be a problem with ship HP if you base it on number of blocks to blast through or something. Because that would just encourage people to make giant flying cubes with the core in the center, not fancy looking proper battleships.
