Try to make a stone roof on the firepit, and I'd say 3-4 blocks of stone flooring around the firepit is wise.

Nice mine location, turn that dungeon into a material farm (or spider ranch), and I've seen flat ocean-side cliffs before.

I only have 7 brick blocks, and I am tired to search for any more. A plentiful sand stone type of stone would be nice. Like a tannish stone block, and could even only occur in desert biomes when biomes get added

    You mean like, limestone?

Pickaxes DO break and unless you find diamond left and right like iron, it is best you don't use them for a task you can do with some extra stone or iron. I personally recommend diamonds for swords because it lets you quickly kill off mobs. Now that diamonds have like, over 1000 uses, I suppose you're allowed to slack a little bit.

But anyway, if you must save cobblestone, use some spare iron.

    the end of the world

That's old news; it's called the Void. The black sheep on the other hand... well, that's interesting.

It's old too. It's called "poor suffocating animal trapped inside a block".

Try getting 2 buckets, and making an infinite well next to your pond.

    :Water: []
    [] :Water:

With the water icons being a spring. Make this in a pit as to prevent a flood.

It will form an infinite well, allowing you to get infinite water to fill your pond.

I like the hatch idea Gorden but I think the iron hatch should be switch activated only to keep it in line with how the iron doors work. I'd also add a wooden hatch recipe that would be click activated like the wooden doors:
    [] [] []
    [] [] []
    :wood: :wood: :wood:

That recipe is already taken for pressure plates, which is why I used iron. Good idea, maybe sticks instead...?

At least the game is difficult in various ways. It's a lot different than dwarf fortress, which is what I'm used to, where its' difficulty varies significantly, but no matter the difficulty of the situation you are in, chances are you'll lose someone very important. The challenges you can do with that are insane, try starting with 7 dwarves, one single pickaxe, in THE FROZEN HELLISH TUNDRA. Oh yes. No food, no water, nothing but a pickaxe, final des- OH GOD POLAR BEAR

Hahaha. It'd be great if we could do stuff like that in Minecraft, but it is nowhere near as complicated yet.

I guess that is true. I used to challenge myself by making monster arenas and fight them with hands only on hard mode. Good fun.

Let's plays aren't supposed to be made of rts/mmorpgs/etc, I learned that way back when.

But especially not flipping sandbox games.

Sandbox games come in a lot of variety, most of which are not good for LPs. For example, compare GMod and Minecraft. Both sandbox games, but they have a lot of differences. Minecraft has a challenge, so some people do like seeing LPs of that. I'm sure they might be interested in seeing a video of killing a zombie horde in a flying fridge boat, but not a LP with 20 parts.

Give yourself a huge amount of challenge, Grumb. Easy mode for tons of mobs, a huge project, other self-imposed challenges, you name it. A simple "ok guys lets go punch wood then make a shelter out of cloth and dirt and wood ok next time we go mining" would not be appreciated.
