Would be better if all items repaired slowly, very slowly, over time. Meaning that you'd have to carry a few picks, axes, swords, shovels with you, and switch them around when one got near low, or carry one of each and switch around what you are doing as you need to.
that way things like diamonds do give you a return for the risk it took to get them, but there are also complications, u dont have a truly infinite diamond pick because you must wait for it to repair, which will take a long time.

Lanterns, unless they use oil, will not be hard to craft. Even if it uses smelted stone and coal for a source, that is still a quick trip to a cliffside and your spawn beach. Oil, on the other hand, would be hard to obtain because it requires a bucket.
The only thing this is somewhat reasonable is for coal, as that will undoubtedly be used a lot more with limited torches. You were never meant to be able to build huge castles made completely of diamond and metal. If you haven't dug a tunnel in a long time, there is more ore then ever, at least in Survival.
Oh, I was on Peaceful the entire time, I noticed after falling off a cliff on another map. Turns out it is a Skeleton Spawner. But anyway, its still strange how it didn't render inside.
While looking for a winter map, I stumbled upon one desert of a beach. Wandering towards a cactus, I find a curious pit shaped perfectly like a square. I dug it out, and sure enough,
Had a saddle and golden apple, but this isn't another dumb thread about amazing dungeon discoveries. Notice the Mob Spawner; it has nothing in it. I waited until night, and it did not spawn anything, but every minute or so it'd spawn dust particles. What the hell is this glitched spawner?
There are such things as Gravel beaches, but anyway, its just random generation stuff. If not intended, it might be because gravel is referred to as sand in it (according to glitches, like back when you could smelt gravel with fire to make glass).
It is because minecraft is a fantasy world, made of 1x1x1 meter blocks, where you can make diamond pickaxes by placing three equally sized blue diamonds on top of two sticks, and there are skeletons, zombies, spiders and creepers, that come out of nowhere, and kill you. If you are going to post something critisizing the realistisity of minecraft, think about it before you post. Minecraft aint realistic, dont think it is.
Then why don't we have dirt changing to brick and solid gold chests every Tuesday and water flowing upwards whenever there are no explosions?
(yes I know this is more of a common sense thing than realism)
So, I've built my home underwater, for defensive purposes... No creepers gunna swim to the bottom of the ocean and explode.
But I'm trying to create a very self-sustaining base.
So far I've managed to build:
-Underwater farm
-Underwater tree farm
-Underwater minecart system (to connect to my mines, other points above ground)
...But I need pig's meat. So my question to you all is this:
Is it possible to get grass into an underwater base, and then have pigs spawn in it? or are there certain parameters that wouldn't let them spawn below sea level?
thanks in advance guys.
Damn, I was hoping you discovered an underwater glitched Dungeon with magical piggie volcanoes.
This would be great if toned down a bit and only applied to natural blocks, but it'd be a sudden change. If you pay attention closely, this is added for water but it is just slightly crooked.

Looks almost like a painting with that moon. Looks pretty nice, add some campish furniture.

No, I'm on Easy so I can fight mobs more than several times each night.

But if it isn't realistic, why isn't my cliffs sketching faces into itself and talking to me?
