How did you hear about server?: I found it on /r/MCServers!
What got you interested in the server?: I was browsing /r/MCServers after my old survival server died, and found this one. I was looking for a mostly vanilla server that I could sink some time into and build something impressive, and I think this server fits the bill!
What is your favorite part of minecraft?: Honestly? I love how much people have built on it. In it of itself, minecraft is great, but the vast variety of mods, plugins, and maps is what makes it great. I also love how open ended it is—every person plays the game differently.
Do you have a preferred building style?: I build a lot of natural, wood/forest themed structures, but I've gotten bored of that so may try something new. Oriental is hard without paper walls, but I might try it. Building ruined temples for others to explore would also be a ton of fun.
What do you hope to get out of this server?: I hope to find a server where I can create a massive survival build without fear of griefers, and interact with a friendly community in the process.
What can you bring to this server?: A friendly attitude, and hopefully some impressive builds.
Tell us about yourself!: My interest in minecraft waxes and wanes, but I've played the game on and off since its initial release. What I enjoy most in the game is its survival aspect, and the pleasure of building something new. I'm a perfectionist, so often mess with my designs far more than I have to!

A lot of my builds were on a old, dead server, but here's some things I've built;
I've got an idea that's a little different for you, if you want it
Basically, make a "outer space" skin -- that is, a skin that shows only stars as if one is looking out into space. The "challenging" part (or not, I'm no artist) is representing the color and depth of space in the small resolution of a minecraft skin. After all, anyone can plop down some white dots on a black skin and call it a starry sky.
If you want a image reference, something like this, but as a skin:
Make sure the repeater is set to at least a 2 tick delay, or it will go too fast and won't pull back the pistons. Set it to longer if the server you play on is laggy.
I'm probably doing something stupid, but I can't figure out what. I downloaded the mod, and the "recommended" 1.8 forge version, installed forge, and put thaumcraft in the "mods" folder, but when I try to start minecraft I just get a white screen. The launcher works fine, the "loading" screen appears, but when it finishes loading the screen is just white. No crash report or anything D:
1. You can't put normal pipes between filtered pipes and anything else. It breaks everything. They can be used as the only thing between two machines or you deal with snail speed.
Ah, I've experienced this before but didn't know why. I'll try that, thank you!
Because using mushrooms you can fully automate nitor production--I use an arcane bore to mine giant mushrooms placed and bone-mealed by use golems. If I made it using torches and charcoal I'd have to manually craft things, and thus it wouldn't be fully automatic.
In order to automate nitor I'm attempting to distill mushrooms for their tenebrae essentia, and spin that down into lux. I don't know why, but the setup I made keeps getting "clogged" i.e. the furnace doesn't output to anything. I'm trying to do this using only pipes (my golems always glitch through blocks), any help would be appreciated!
Mushrooms have: 1 herba, 1 ignis, 1 tenebrae
Nitor Costs: 3 ignis, 3 potentia (I get this from a tree farm), 3 lux
My setup is as follows:
I'm voiding the Herba.
I use ignis to craft the nitor for efficiency's sake, but I have to void some of it because for every 1 point of lux I get, I'll get 2 of ignis. Hence the void jar.
tenebrae goes into a centrifuge and gets spun down into lux and vacuos.
Lux from that centrifuge goes into the auto-crafting thing (whatever it's called), I've attached a void jar so that it has somewhere to go when the auto-crafter needs other essentia. Also note the jar of potentia--this will come from a tree farm so I just added a full jar in my test build.
The vacuos gets spun down into aer and perditio. Aer is voided.
Perditio goes into the bore I use to break the mushrooms, but because it produces perditio faster then the bore uses it, I also attached a void jar.
I'm pretty sure this is possible, but I can't figure out how to do it. I want to "shift" the color of a blue texture so that it looks purple, but keep the shading. For example, darker spots still look darker, lighter spots lighter, etc. I'm using GIMP. For example, rather then editing the glass texture and then changing EACH stained glass texture by hand with different colors, I could "shift" the color value (or whatever it is) to get red, blue, green, etc.
Practical applications of this are: Changing stone textures to look darker (even close to black), changing a skin from blue to purple.
Mana-bean farms... well, they're a shortcut within the mod, breaking past both gates and supply needs for essentia. On the other hand, farming them seriously does require advancing pretty far in the mod and game already: exploration, Infusion, Nether Quartz.
Have you ever tried making a mana bean farm in survival? Because trust me, it's anything but a shortcut. As in, if you start a bean farm when you first unlock infusion and nether quartz, you'll be end game by the time it's done. Not only is making multiple lamps of growth more or less essential to the process--they're SO SLOW otherwise--but because of a quirk with harvest golems, all farms of different aspects have to be kept 8 blocks apart, or they'll start mixing and ruin everything. Combining the base aspects into the useful, hard to get things, like aurum, instrumentum, lucrum, etc. takes FOR EVER because the combination process has to be done by hand, and some aspects are SUPER complex.
Then, of course, you need a way to fuel your lamps of growth. A cactus farm is the easiest way, but you still need to automatically distill the herba vis out, which means you're using the advanced alchemical furnace (endgame) or have set up a tree farm (which requires at least 3 golems) that automatically smelts the wood (infernal furnace) and adds it to a alchemical furnace.
Aaah I love this mod! On server I play on, which uses Thaumcraft, a small addon made by the admin, and Twilight Forest (to keep people entertained until TC5 is out), some players converted an airship base into a raid event. Tons of bosses everywhere, lightning foci zapping everything, and people desperately trying to stay alive--so much fun! Good thing free thalamic fortress armor was provided, because... there were a awful lot of casualties o.o
If you're interested, here's the highlights video:
EDIT: I did not record this video, nor build the airship. All I did was participate in the raid
Can someone help me with my essentia tube troubles? I'm distilling cacti for the herba essentia (so I can use lamps of growth for the rest of my base), but when I hooked everything up it just started hissing and now flows REAAALY slowly. I've labeled the alembics and used filtered essentia tubes to try to only have one type of essentia going through, but it doesn't work D:
And now for a second question: Is there an ideal way to transport herba essentia to lamps of growth in various places around my base? What's the maximum distance for tubes?

Is it just me or is the download button not working on the website? I clicked the download button under the 1.9.X banner but it doesn't do anything...
Anyways, judging from the screenshots this pack looks amazing. Great job!

I just built it, and it worked fine. Either the server you're playing on is super laggy, or you built it wrong.

I can't quite understand your redstone, it's a bit hard to see in the video. That said, here's a door design that works
Do note that it doesn't matter what block the pistons push, blocks they can't push can be found here.

I love this resource pack so much, it deserves so much more recognition then it gets! Thank you for not letting it die!
