Right now (in 1.15.2) there are 4 ways to get chickens. By spawning them with a chicken egg, by typing the "/summon chicken" command, by throwing eggs at the ground, which is pretty dumb, and by breeding them using seed. Which literally makes no sense because chickens are not mammals like cows, sheep & horses. You cannot breed parrots for that reason, why the hell can you breed chickens?

I have made a suggestion thread suggesting a new mechanic to replace this system: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-java-edition/suggestions/3021225-changes-in-chicken-breeding

They should remove the throwing eggs and the breeding of chickens with seeds and add a new mechanic or a new block (a block crafted with hay bale) that if chickens are above it (maybe it can be used for them to sleep during the night) they can lay eggs inside it and if they are standing above it while sleeping on the block in some time the egg will crack and a chick will be born. Maybe this mechanic can be used so players don't skip the night so often and this will make the game a little bit more challenging. Make sure to reply because I want to know your thoughts on my idea.

posted a message on Sharing New Server IP Address

I think that there is a way to hide your public IP Address by simply getting a free sub-domain using websites like:

    https://freedns.afraid.org/

Let's say that your public IP Address is something like 30.172.29.189

With this website it you can make it look something like gamecrafters.mooo.com or ukcraft.strangled.net it's totally free and it is solid. So instead of joining your server and inviting other people via your public IP Address (30.172.29.189) you can start giving them the custom sub domain that you have created.

posted a message on Can't keep up! Did the system time change, ...

RAM is incredibly important so I think that you should definitely upgrade your server's dedicated RAM in order not to get these messages which mean that the server is lagging. The server has to load new chunks, load all the mods, save your loaded chunks, save all the players' information (such as respawn point, inventory, advancements etc). Your server seems to struggle so a RAM upgrade is a MUST.

posted a message on Error after moving server to new PC. Can no longer connect to server.

I am not considered an expert but I think that different devices have different IPv4 Addresses and different Mac Addresses so you need to change your value of server-ip in the server.properties file to your new PC's IPv4 Address which can be found when typing ipconfig into cmd. Then you need to change the old IPv4 Address to the new one on your router's set up website in order to port forward correctly.

posted a message on Set up RAM in 1.15.2 minecraft self-hosted server

    Hello,

I've noticed that in older versions of Minecraft in order to setup a server you needed to type in a txt file how much ram you wanted for your server. For example if I wanted 4 GB of RAM I could simply type "Java -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui" in the txt file and then save it as a bat file and then execute it. But now in 1.15.2 you simply have to double click the server.jar file, accept the EULA and then double click it again and then the server is fully set up. But my question is: How does the server know how much RAM I want it to have when I don't use the txt file like I did with the previous Minecraft versions? Thanks for reading my question, if you have any answers feel free to let me know!

    Best regards,

posted a message on PC for running my Minecraft server

    Hello,

I am tired of paying hosting sites to be able to play Minecraft with my friends so I decided to host my own server on my main gaming PC but then I realized that I couldn't let my main PC on all the time and it got laggier over time so I figured out that I will just buy a cheap PC just to run my Minecraft server (No peripherals just a PC). Does anyone know what parts should I buy? If you have any recommendations feel free to let me know. Thanks for reading this!

posted a message on Need help portforwarding (WAN Problems)

    Hello,

I have issues port forwarding my server.

Before I state my problem I want to clarify that I am kind of 'new' to the whole self-hosting servers and I apologize if you see something that I did horribly wrong.

I tried filling the gaps from a tutorial video that I saw on YouTube but still something is wrong. The router set up website is much different from the one that I watched on YouTube so I kinda did my own thing (that's why it's probably not working). What does WAN Hosting IP Address mean? I didn't know what to put there so I left it blank, I tried adding my public IP Address but it still won't work did I do something wrong with the WAN Connection as well? Thanks for reading my problem if you have a solution feel free to respond.

    Cheers,

    gkN
