Does the instrument you play use a Staff or a Tablature? You mentioned Cello earlier, right? So then you would use a staff.
Transcription basically means taking a piece of music composed on a certain instrument, and then rewriting to fit with another. Here is a little more detail if you need it.

So I would recommend some background information, there are some great books on transcribing music to other instruments. You may need a little skill in music composition first before transcribing. Here is another book on that subject by famous composer Paul Hindemith.

Then when you have a grasp on composition (or skip straight to transcription if you prefer). This book teaches how to transcribe music with computers. The book is extremely expensive, but the reason behind that is because books like these aren’t in super high demand.

Transcribing music is truly a lost art.
Or you can skip all of that! If you can read treble and bass staffs, then just play what you see on the piano music down to the octave you want. Notes on the staff are almost exactly the same as another.
