The other day I thought of a multiplayer mode that I believe would be interesting. Just though i'd share it.
* You join a random server with X number of random people. Everyone is spawned many blocks apart, maybe 1000 or more. It could either just spawn one or two people at the same location. you build a village at your spawn and expand and explore. you would eventually meet up with the other players. The you could decide wether to help them with trade or friend them, or you could decide to be evil and steal their stuff.

no i dont have a screen recorder, but if you got one i'd be willing do a lets play, i can for sure edit the vide
