I'm sure if the graphics were say "unpleasant" vs. less professional then it would be subtracted from the score. Your not one of the few either, a ton of PS3 gamers I know HATE the Xbox 360 just for the reason that PS3 can handle more graphically intense games.
Yeah but i don't compare it like that(it's more like your first statement, unpleasant vs less pro.) I'd probably give a game on three different systems more or less the same graphics score since they just use various quality levels of it. My point was more how the graphics fit the game vs just 'modern quality.' If i was gonna give a visuals rating.
But, i can see why removing that rating could be better, it kinda means different things to different people, so it could give the wrong impression, maybe its best to just leave a graphics score off, hehe.
I don't really discuss graphics but instead leave screenshots for the users to decide themselves.
I'm one of the few people that thinks graphics affect a game, but not in the traditional sense, i would rate them based on their perceived quality compared to the game they are in.
Lets use WoW for an example, since its a well known example, WoW doesn't by any means have next gen super shaded models, or anything, but the models are well done and definitely fit the style of the game, the visuals are improved every expansion and they always stay rather true to the world and mesh well with each other, definitely a 5/5.
However if i got a game like say, Black ops, also a well known example, and it had models and animations that look like they came from an n64 game(they aren't that bad, this is just a theoretical example), i'd probably give it a lower rating. There are actually alot of big name company games these days that try to go for a visual style and just fail epicly at it, usually due to time constraints or other things, those i would rate lower.
That's just me though.

I can definetly see were you are coming from. But Fail Gamers is kind of each reviewers style so it would be wrong of me to edit there post but I will tell them what you said.
I don't like supporting the numbers rating system. And don't score based on graphics, please.
So your one of those that think graphics don't change the game? While I do believe graphics aren't that important they still play a role in the game.
Graphics can certainly affect a game. But either have the graphics be very unweighted, or don't even score the graphics.
Listen I don't want to sound harsh but a lot of gamers care about graphics these days and there always will be people who do. It's great that graphics don't affect a game for you but for the majority it does. I didn't write the review and I will not ask for it to be changed for a small handful of people. If it bothers you that much you can average the score yourself without the graphics included.

Well I talked to the reviewer, he agrees with you and says that's why he didn't make the graphics impact the rating.
