Seems pretty damn cool. I have a few ideas.

♣ Nether and End components in the Regular World.

    ♣ Extremely tiny biomes.

♣ Specific biome choice. (all snow, all extreme hills, ect)

posted a message on [Game-Multiplayer] Ore Race!
To start off, this is my first map of any kind, and some feedback would be GREATLY appreciated, positive or negative. I am also a newb to posting threads here, so if I did something wrong, let me know so that I can fix it.

This is a game in which 2 or more people race to get the most points by collecting various ores and other blocks. The whole time, battling mobs who are trying to crap in your cornflakes. The winner is obviously the one who has the most points by the end of the trial. One game should take from about 5-15 minutes, it depends on how much you search for stuff.

Its a pretty simple game with only two rules:
Dont break smooth stone, and dont go around smooth stone. If there is a wall of stone, it means there is nothing over there, dont waste your time. Of cousrse you dont have to play by my rules, you can make up your own, but these are just my suggestions. Same with the scoring.

Each person starts off with: Sword, pick, 64 torches, 64 melon, 64 of a colored wool and a chestplate. The colored wool is for reaching far places and for points at the end.

    Rotton Flesh:---10
    Blaze Rod:------75
    Ghast Tear:-----100

Now, I know people will say, "no pics no clicks" but if I would get pictures it will just look like a cave with ores in it, because that is basically what it is. I dont want to make a video because that can spoil the surprises. :/

I am not expecting too many people to actually try it, but for those who do, thanks. c:

posted a message on Kill Counter
Me and my friend are making a map thats for bow and arrow wars. We just want to know if it is possible to make it so that you can have a kill counter on the screen somewhere. And pausing the game shows a scoreboard of anyone on the server. (disconnecting and reconnecting resets your kills.) I couldnt find this previously made, and I am completely unskilled in modding. So, if anyone could make this, or tell me if this is even possible, I would be greatly appreciative. :Diamond:

Oh, you need to have the 2>&1 thing as well, it redirects error messages to standard out. Or you could just do 2> instead of > to just get the error messages

Did you follow the installation instructions in the original post? Remember to delete META-INF directory.

Yes, I followed the directions and deleted the MetaInf. I tried it again, and this time Minecraft didn't crash at all until I put modloader in. I guess I will just wait until the next version of wireless redstone comes out.

Okay, I am not sure about this but, I put the redstone mod in my minecraft.jar by itself, and the game loads up, but crashes in about 5 seconds, while when I have modloader, it doesnt even load...
    I am confused. :Skeleton:

Which archiving program do you use?

I wish this didn't matter, but some archiving programs aren't very good at decompressing binaries and some aren't very good at handling jar archives (for some reason, JAR is basically just ZIP).

Although, it might just be me compressing the zip too hard for non-conventional archiving programs (others than WinZIP, WinRAR or my personal favorite; 7zip)

I use J-Zip. I've used it for going on 2 years and never had issues before.

Thanks, t should work with the Colorful Redstone mod as well. :smile.gif:

That is because mod_WirelessRedstone is the facade class. None of the other classes are used without it.

Did you make sure to delete the META-INF folder?
If that didn't do it, try running Minecraft through the console.
In Windows you can do it by opening CMD and using the following command:
    java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp "%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\*" -Djava.library.path="%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\natives" net.minecraft.client.Minecraft

This will print out stack traces, which are very useful for locating bugs.

If you want to output the stack trace to a text file so you can copy it, you can append the following at the end of the previous command:
    2> path/to/some/file.txt

Alright, I did that, and now at least I get a crash report:

    Mods loaded: 3
    ModLoader Beta 1.5_01v4
    mod_TooManyItems 1.5_01
    mod_BetterBlocks v3.2
