Those skeleton horses can get really tough sometimes. The other day I accidentally triggered two at once in my spawn chunk... one of the skeletons had a flame bow too. At least you quickly got rid of them, it took me at least an hour with max gear. My best tip is to use a shield when going into melee combat.

This happened to one (why it was that one I don't know) of my spawners two snapshots ago. It appeared to only be happening to me but for some reason the other ones in my world were not effected. If you have a backup from before loading the snapshot you could always downgrade and load that version. Also, I personally go into creative and fix things such as this that are bugs or glitches from snapshots (but only for that reason).

I found this spawner in my spawn chunks:
I made this world in 1.8.3, so there may have been a bug back then. I have also checked other spawners in my world and they were unaffected.
Has anyone else experienced this issue (I want a spider spawner near my base)?

I'm going to interpret this as the following:
Build a city of master engineers who build giant bridges and live in houses on top of 20 block tall support beams.
The first thing I think of about this is the new end city place. This will be interesting...I'll try to get the first building post up tomorrow.

So I was adventuring around near my base and saw this giant cave opening. I would guess it is at least 9-10 blocks deep, 30+ blocks tall, and 25+ blocks wide. I had one of those moments where you go "This place just is so amazing something HAS to be built here!" The building space here is huge, with this opening, the large cave, a hidden room below the bottom-most dirt block, and a large flat area just behind where I am in the picture.
However, I have no idea what to build :P. Do you have any suggestions? I have easy access to (almost) every block, including the new 1.9 ones.
I'm really stumped with this one. Maybe I could build an empire's gold bank, with a city/village below, but then I could do this other idea I thought of, or that idea... (my thought process, lel). What would you build here?
If you didn't notice, I am planning to make a shortish building journal out of this, so suggest well!

I was looking back on an old survival world of mine. Instead of putting myself in spectator mode, I thought it would be cool to give myself jump boost 128, speed 255, and resistance 255 (so I don't die of fall damage). I opened the world to LAN to turn on creative and cheats for this. After jumping a few times, I was kicked for fly hacking. This really upset me because it wouldn't let me just do "whatever" on my world because it was originally survival. I was playing in the latest snapshot (15w42a) if that makes a difference. I couldn't find any other threads about this after doing some searches; sorry if I missed one like this before.
(I died after spawning back in)
Screenshots in spoiler.

I've been looking for a good challenge for a while and this might do the trick! I have an additional rule to create a more interesting play-through.
- I will not use any armor better than leather. I thought it would be cool to do a caveman era theme.
After spawning in my world, I needed to run a few hundred blocks to find an island. Although this might sound like a really long distance, it was quite easy because I you can see the mountains through the ice. I'm just going to do a picture journal. They say a single picture speaks a thousand words.
My first day:
My view of the island after a little development and tree-planting. If you notice, I have beef in my inventory. That's right, I have cows (I only killed one).
is my little shack. It was already dark by the time I built this. I
mined out the back area so it be a little more home-like.
you can see, I found these diamonds before making an iron pick axe.
During the first night, I crafted several stone picks and just tried to
find iron. This may not be iron, but I'll take it!

I don't know what to say besides basic troubleshooting words of wisdom. Make sure you are pressing both keys at the time (I doubt you didn't know this). Also if you are on a laptop, make sure you press function key (Fn) first/at the same time. Also, I think you can't do this while you have your inventory open. Hopefully something helped.

Try speed-running minecraft. Find the seed the record was set on, and set yourself a difficult goal. You have to keep trying over and over until you reach your goal. (I would recommend 15-20ish minutes as a goal).

I plan to start showing people my world once I get my first farm done. It might even be a weekly thing. But I'm wondering, should I make a new thread every time I get a big project done (if I did it wouldn't be weekly)? Or should I keep on adding on to this one like you. I kinda feel like making new ones would either get annoying or get me in trouble.
You already answered your own question then. I would keep adding on to the thread.

I kind of like the current combat methods. Timing is everything, getting the first hit can/will make the difference of a battle. However, I think bows should be a little stronger against mobs. A fully charged power 5 bow will not always kill the mob in one shot, but I think it should (not sure if that is balanced though.) Also, if you have ever watched a factions series, the people in the faction almost never use bows (too long to charge). Maybe add some kind of mechanical bow, which charges faster but can't be enchanted? Lastly horses.... Even with diamond armor they are not very good for pvp or pve. In pvp, it makes it harder to hit your opponent, and your opponent can just hit your horse will being out of range of your sword. While in pve, to get close enough to whack at a creeper, it can explode and kill your horse (or even the rider).
I think there should be some kind of advantage to riding on a horse to make it worth a while. Or same could apply to dogs, they need to run faster to deal more than one hit of damage (don't dogs outrun humans in real life?).
