I don't go and make everything explode with TNT, if you're building a medieval themed village or something I'll help. If you want some other Minecraft players to be on your server, you have to have a server address (if you already know this then that's great).

Its not working. Maybe its the server address?? A lot of other servers usually have something like: 111.11.111.11:1111
Are you on a lan server? Because that might be why its not working right.
