weird, just to make sure i read this right, you just had java 64 bit installed? try uninstalling java, deleting the .minecraft folder then reinstall java and run Minecraft.exe
did you run mcpatcher? at the near-top of the texture forum there will be as stickied thread that says mcpatcher, run mcpatcher then try to run it with the texture pack, also before you run the official minecraft.exe download spoutcraft and before you login, click options and allocate 2 gb of memory to it then check all of the other options
