This would be excellent for mass mob battles, and the possibly bugs you cited could be fixed with some clever hit detection changes for the enchantment. Full support.
The inspiration:While messing around in Creative mode with enchantments, I happened to get the idea of enchanting arrows with Flame, Punch, and Sharpness. Following this idea, I tested out the arrows on a zombie with a standard un-enchanted bow. The arrows were used, but they didn't have any special effect, nor any extra damage.
The idea: What if you could enchant arrows so that you could still use enchantments with a bow that doesn't have that enchantment you're looking for? Logically, the two enchantments that come to mind would be Flame
and Sharpness.
Flame would function like it does on a bow, with the same amount of DPS and the same amount of burning time.
Sharpness would add an extra 1/2 heart of damage for each level.
I also have the idea of another enchantment that would be a bit strange, Unbreaking. With Unbreaking, every level of enchantment increases the possibility that the arrow will not break when it makes contact with A MOB by 5%, up to a maximum 15% if enchanted to the maximum level. To balance out PvP, the arrows will always break when they hit a player, making it so a mass PvP battle won't be swayed by the extra arrows players might get.
Edit: This idea is just here so that should people want to use enchantments but don't have an enchanetd bow at the ready, they could still use enchantments. Also, If this were to be implemented, it would be so that you can enchant a whole stack of arrows at once for the cost of one enchantment.

Funny or interesting Minecraft experience: Once, I was in a new seed. I had spawned and discovered an expansive cave. Due to my procrastination powers, I decided to not explore it well, but I kept it in mind. When I exited the cave, I tried to make myself some stone tools. Little did I know that a ninja creeper decided to come from my left and royally mess up everything I know and love. After respawning, I got my stuff again and tried to climb a tree, almost fell off the tree twice, and then climbed down after becoming disinterested to see a creeper waiting for me at the bottom. I was lucky to have survived by pushing him away with a pickaxe and climbing up the tree again.
Going to cut this update a little shorter than I would have liked, mainly because this is the second time I am typing this thing out... Either my page gets closed or I accidentally hit the refresh key. I will be following through with updates more often as I find the time so I don't have to sift through pages and pages of forum to find what you are all demanding to know. Anyway... enjoy :3
Server Updates:
-I learned how to manage our multicraft so pgts, in his absence, will not be painstakingly missed... he will still be missed, but not to the point where we need to bug him 24/7 with questions about how to add plugins, how to update, etc...
-I added 3 new plugins:
-Gods: So now we have our gods. I decided to finally add it after I finished completion of the brand new human cathedral
that is set to only open during the day
-WorldBorder: Look it up if ya don't know what it is, pretty self explanatory though...
-PorteCoulissante: Functions as a gate raising/lowering device, without the redstone or the pistons. Look it up on the Bukkit
page if you want further info.
-Adding a few new things to the Human cities (ie. marketplace and a few more houses due to the massive increase in populations since we started the server )
-Touching up the Dwarven city.
-Pretending to direct Ravenide with the construction of the End... He asks what I want there but he is doing fine and pretty much has the 'Beginning' of the server set up.
-Fired all of my hired builders due to seeming lack of desire and potential. Applications are open again, send them to me privately, no in the forum.
-WE NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN MAKE US A FORUM, SPEAK TO ME IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE IF YOU HAVE THE ABILITY AND THE TIME TO DO THIS!!! (Please and thank you :3)
Community Highlights:
Spout:
We are not currently expecting to add Spout to the server, nor is this expected to be anything that we will implement anytime soon. The reason for this being that Spout can be awesome, but at the same time it can be limiting. It has a lot of potential but I don't want to have something that will give 'additional features' if only a few players are going to use it. If we did add Spout I would need to see community outcry for it as well as non-boosting features of Spout that players would want along with the addition.
Races:
The Elves are not the same Elves that you see in the Lord Of The Rings, nor are the Humans, Dwarves or Undead. Every race is something similar to the stereotype, but they are not at the same time. In becoming an Elf you do not have to be all goody-goody and prance around loving nature. The Elves do in-fact incorporate this nature loving aspect into their lives, but they do it for the sake of taking the forest to protect them. Each race is meant to reflect what it is like to actually be a part of a town. This of course means that not everyone that is a Human, is going to be the same type of human (and so on and so forth for each of the other races). There are essential personality traits that each race must have, but the rest of it is for the race as a whole to interpret in their experience while they play the gate.
Trench Warfare:
I do like the idea of having trench warfare added into the game, but not as more than a minigame that people can play... simple due to the fact that it would be hard to maintain in a real battle situation. I would like to direct everyone's attention to the Blitzkrieg tactic used at the beginning of WWII, at the beginning of the war the French prepared a trench line along their borders known as the Maginot Line. the German's (anticipating this move) just went around the trench line and practically straight into Paris (effectively ending the war for the French before it even began). But again, I would like to see this as a minigame :3
City Expansion:
To quell everyone's question about this. Yes, each city will expand on it's own after the player count begins to rise inside of the city. This will lead to the development of different parts of a city and maybe even suburbs. I would like to warn people right now though, currently there are a vast number of people that are potential to join the server and we did not think the server would expand this fast when we began building. Rather than tear down the walls of the city to accompany this new influx of people, there will be houses for a few people outside of the walls of the main cities of the Humans, Elves and potentially the Undead. For these people it will turn into a 'run inside the walls in case of attack event' which makes me smile thinking of the casualties >:3 (not really, but it will make the game a little more realistic).
Release Date:
Through no fault of his own, MrOmNom misinformed some of you that we are releasing the server within 1-2 weeks. Due to Hurricane Sandy and the fact that we are going to be implementing a lot of the new stuff from 1.4 into the server, we will not be releasing anytime soon (sorry).
1.4 Ideas:
Since I am on the topic of 1.4, I would like to inform you to some of the ideas that we have had going around.
-Watchtowers: An interesting idea given by an old friend of mine that I knew in my earliest days of playing Minecraft.
Basically, with the addition of watchtowers we will be setting up watchtowers in a series that allows one
watchtower to see the beacon 'beam' of another. Due to some piston magic you can cover these beacon beams
until they are needed. This will allow a LOTR effect to warn the capitol's of an incoming attack! The guards will
be allowed to have houses next to the towers to avoid boredom and to add realism :3
-Anvils: Will be used as anvils
-Other: Stone walls will be used to make the scenery a little more interesting. The other new additions such as leather armor
might be used as race identification or it may be used as just leather armor... it depends on what you all want.
We're using 1.4.2 on the server? I thought we were going to use 1.3.2. Should I update minecraft?
Another angle could be that we don't really know what this ancient power that is unlocked would do. For example, it could possibly turn whoever unlocks it into a god essentially, or it could give them control of an army of damned spirits. Or it could possibly back fire and open up a rift and launch the world into an apocolypse.
I very much doubt these things cannot pick up blocks and/or throw them at you............
Excuse me,I've gotta go save my wheat crop from a squad of those monsters holding TNT.
