-first and foremost, everything is made out of reiatsu, from the shinigamis, to the weapons, to the effects of their attacks.... so, how a shinigami feels reiatsu and handles reiatsu would shape his or her kido or bankai. (you got this covered already, with the shikai creation thing)

-second, there are (as shown in the anime) at least three types of kido: 'curse', 'attack' and 'buff'.... you might see Unohana and Isane releasing more 'buff' and 'curse' types of level 30-60 with fancy names, but their final effect is similar: heal, hold, transmit, teleport, etc.you might see Byakuya and Renji releasing more 'attack' types such as fireballs, lightning or rains of arrows of level 20-50, even some 70's by Byakuya if my memory serves right... and you might see 'curses' of level up to 99 by Rukia, Yamamoto, Nanao, Ukitake and Soi Fong, such as bindings, slowness, disarmings, poisonings, sleepings, paralysis, enclosings, illusions....there's a fourth type of kido used by the Vizards and Orihime, but it's not "kido" so to speak,... similar effects, different technique, different method of handling it, but still made out of reiatsu.there's also Chad's power that doesn't fit into any category, but has similar destructive power as high-level attack kido, and seems to be non-understandable to most characters.....

-third, the same goes to bankais... there's 'weaponizations', 'transformations' or 'summons'.
'weaponizations' are the most common, can be seen with Ichigo (big sword turns into sleek sword for increased speed), Byakuya (sword turns into millions of vectors for both offense and defense), Ikkaku (massive three-bladed axe for massive attack power), Soi Fong (rocket for long range attacks).... I call them weaponizations because most of them 'bind' with the warrior, as oppossed to being a separate entity.
'transformations' are rare, but if you considered the Quincys, you might want to consider the Espadas, and their "state of final release of their weapon" (to name it a thing) is a transformation.... you have Pantera (panther), Murcielago (bat), Gamuza (gazel)... can't remember if there were others...
'summons' are also rare, but there are a few noticeable ones: Renji's snake-like whip/sword (which is a weapon, but it 'feels' like a separate being and has it's own shape), Unohana's manta ray transport/flying carpet, Toshiro's water dragon (most noticeably, he 'wears an armor' rather than 'directs a summon', but so does Renji), Komamura's samurai golem, Kurotsuchi's giant baby-faced caterpillar (disgusting... love it or hate it, but that thing is just disgusting)
in the Bount's arc, you get characters with mostly summons as weapons.

like I said, depends on the character and it will depend on minecraft's gameplay, but if you see the series and read the manga, it's all variations of uses of reiatsu: you can shape it, you can launch it, absorb it, destroy it or pass it along....that's why the characters win or lose battles, each one tries to figure out their oponent's way of handling reiatsu.

(might want to try to pave your way into the actual implementation of bankai by looking at the different levels of power in the bleach universe: you have humans with power, who can feel spirits, some can even attack them, some can foresee things, etc.... you have shinigamis who can attack hollows and control reiatsu at different levels,.... you have quincys who can absorb reiatsu and launch high level magic,... you have arrancars who are insanely-hyped hollows with insane strength,... you have bounts who are regular people who partner up with another being in a symbiotic relationship,.... and you have fullbringers who are regular people who build their power after their own life experiences and out of everyday objects)

as for the Fullbring, a lot of people aren't caught up to that point in the anime/manga, including yours truly. so at this time anything relating to that will not be looked into much until we finish perfecting shikai, adding bankai, adding vizards, adding the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.
(wont make any promises about any of that stuff being in the next big update)
