Actually, this has been done by many before so it is easy to say it is not a bad idea. If you light up the caves surrounding your ravine you should be able to live without any fear of mobs. There is an endless things to do with a ravine to make it your own, so I'd say go for it, and good luck!
My suggestions:
- Cover the walls with stained clay and stone bricks
- Add some more decorations like paintings and flowers
- Add rooms:
- Smelting room
- Storage room
- Bunker
- A very secured and very hidden room where you will store all your treasures and riches there
- Indoor farm
- Enchanting room
- Crafting room
- Some more bedrooms for SMP
- Animal Breeding room
- Party room for friends
- Mob grinder for mob loots, it doesnt have to be really big - Use your creativity - Add traps outside your base to kill mobs and players - Use redstone inventions to make things more interesting
Well what I had in mind was for the floor part (stone bricks). Making it so that it's one block lower or higher than the rest of the build. But fiddle around with it yourself to see what works. The ceiling might be good to work with aswell
Oh okay, yeah that sounds like something I'll work on. Thanks for clearing that up!
You could lower (or elevate) the stone brick parts in the corners to create some depth. perhaps outline it with stone slabs to make it stand out.
Pro tip: Fences are great for detailing ;D
How do you mean lower or elevate it for depth? Do you mean just make the ceiling shorter or taller? Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not completely sure what you mean by this.
Alright guys, just added and changed a few things. Still not completely done, but I think it looks a lot better than before. Thanks for all the tips, and keep em coming!
get rid of the cobblestone and dirt that are in the walls. maybe get rid of the torches and use glowstone to light the room instead. fix the exit. maybe make the ceiling more complex; rather than just a flat surface maybe make it kind of concave.
Different ceiling definitely sounds like a good idea, along with the clay. The storage room is also a must, will be adding one very shortly. Thanks for the great suggestions everyone
Highly suggest getting a sword with Looting III to get the skulls. Look up "Wither skeleton spawning pads" and make some. All tutorials explain how they work and you should be ok
Hey guys. I just recently finished digging out the first main area of my new underground base. I was looking for ideas for how I should go about changing/adding things to the room. I already know how I'm going to add extra rooms so I only need suggestions on this room because as of right now, it's just a big empty room with a fountain in the middle that I don't know if I'm going to even keep. Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone.
