posted a message on On Phantoms and Elytra
    Quote from tow4rzysz»

    7 phantom membranes for elytra?
    That's way too cheap!
In my opinion, they should not just require membranes, but also at least a shulker shell for frame, or something similiarly expensive! Netherite, or something!
It's meant to be top notch stuff, incredibly hard to get.
Hm, 2 netherite ingots, 1 shulker box and 6 membranes should be expensive enough.

Ah, and as of phantoms being annoying - I don't like the concept of them in outer end either, but in trems of insomnia:
    1. I doubt Mojang will back down, so we shouldn't be too optimistic, but instead plan well;
    2. They should spawn quite often in "haunted" biomes or chunk clusters - a bit like in Dwarf Fortress (which MC is inspired on anyway), where evil biomes cause gibs to become undead - such biomes would also always have specific particle effects, tad like in Basalt Deltas or Warped Forests, and besides of phantoms spawning often, they should have no naturally spawning animals, and way more aggressive mobs armed and armoured to teeth, optionally under not-ending potion effects, as well as more aggressive mobs in general.

I *am* changing the recipe, but I've forgot the website I used to make the recipe image. I'm thinking of using a new drop from shulkers (because I don't want to make shulker boxes any harder to get) as well as membranes, but netherite seems out of theme.

As for phantoms, while they may seem a tad out of theme right now, they'd be more fitting if they were bigger, more dangerous, and coloured differently.

posted a message on Throwable Fire Charges
    Quote from tow4rzysz»

Here is my alternate idea: Fireball launcher.
The launcher would have two rails, 3 quartz each, fused together with 1 gold ingot in the bottom and smeared with 2 balls of Magma Cream. Durability - 720 uses, each 60 uses (20 bursts) it would have to be smeared with 1 ball of cream. Repair material on anvil - quartz.
Relatively inaccurate, fires 3-shot bursts akin to Blazes with a couple of seconds between bursts.
Enchantments - precision (less inaccuracy, level III max), repeater (mutually exclusive with artillery, adds one shot per level, level II max), artillery (mutually exclusive with repeater, eats 3 charges to launch single ghast-like, but weaker charge, level I max), also standard Mending and Unbreaking.
Such launcher should be available in Nether Fortresses' loot chests, and 1/20 of Wither Skeletons, or all of few normal Skeletons of Nether Fortresses should operate them and have chance to drop them. Piglins should have a chance to give you a badly damaged one with smear used up.

Could work, though having to smear seems too tedious and pointless. The recipe could also do with some work.

posted a message on The Minecraftian Language

    Preface

You may remember an old thread proposing a Minecraftian language for villagers to speak. If you don't, that's because it was last active in 2016. However, I have been working on it independently since late 2017, and now it is capable of expressing almost anything a Minecraft player will encounter. Furthermore, the old Minecraftian was a mess, with rules constantly being broken; I changed that, regularizing everything.

    Alphabet and Phontactics

The Minecraftian alphabet consists of 16 letters, as follows (with IPA pronunciation):

i /ɪ/~/i/ (i in bit or ee in beet; the latter is preferred)

    e /ɛ/~/e/ (e in pen)

    a /a/ (a in glass)

o /ɒ/~/ɔ/~/o/ (o in pot or aw in paw; the latter is preferred)

    p /p/

    t /t/

    k /k/~/q/ (k in kite)

    f /ɸ/~/f/ (f in fish)

    s /s/

    h /x/~/χ/~/ħ/~/h/ (h in hat, NOT x in box)

    m /m/

    n /n/

    l /l/

    r /ɹ/ (r in room; never rolled)

    ts /ts/

    ks /ks/

Minecraftian syllables have the structure (C)V(C), with no exceptions.

    Grammar

    • Minecraftian sentences are structured SVO (subject-verb-object), with prepositions affecting the verb at the end.
    • Adjectives are placed after the noun, for example pae (wool) + pohem (red) = paepohem (red wool). Possession is indicated similarly; sike (sword) + o (I, me) = sikeo (my sword). are (some) and asa (all) also work as so; parok (block) + are (some) = parokare (some block), parok (block) + asa (all) = parokasa (all blocks; every block). However, the roles of nouns and adjectives are interchangeable; pohem can mean "red" as an adjective, but "something that is red" as a noun.
    • Plurals are unmarked.
    • There are no articles.
    • Simple tense (past, present, future) is optional and can be left out if desired.
    • Adjectives can also double as adverbs.

    Morphology

    • -e yields a verb's subject from the verb: patan (to shoot) -> patane (bow).
    • -pe yields a verb's object from the verb: patan (to shoot) -> patanpe (arrow).
    • -ka, -ke, and -ki mark past, present and future tense respectively. They can be omitted if desired.
    • mam- and nar- essentially mean "full of" and "free of" respectively.
    • kah- yields a verb from a noun: menor (cooked) -> kahmenor (to cook).

    Numbering

Minecraftian uses an octal (base-8) number system.

    Can I contribute?

You are free to suggest new words, but I have final say over what gets in. Furthermore, they must adhere to the alphabetical and phontactical restrictions. Also, Minecraftian has a strict no-loanword policy; all words must be derived from onomatopoeia or made up.
