Currently the server is literally just me and him. My computer can handle leaving it running 24/7, though, so I could consider opening it to the TAU here, though I don't know how long I'll maintain interest in Minecraft so I won't say anything for sure yet. Keep in mind I have no interest in mods and so the server would be purely vanilla.
Hey, guys! (all two of you that recognize me, anyway) A friend and I have started playing Minecraft together on a private server and I started thinking back to when I used to make texture (now resource) packs. I came here expecting the community to be mostly dead, or otherwise to find no familiar faces left, but I've been proven wrong on both accounts. I don't plan right now to get back into making resource packs (unless there's demand for it); just wanted to come by to say that it's cool that there's still a community around.
Yay, I'm not dead! \o/
What's everyone been up to around here?
'twas less about you being dead and more about myself not having textured anything for a very long time and now coming back pretty much on impulse. Impulsion like that means the texturing for my new pack (32x cartoon pixel art, will probably be named Second Rising (if it gets released (parentheses()))) may be a temporary fascination, but hopefully I actually finish the pack.
As Taiine said, it's hard to know what you do and don't already know about to inform you of recent feature additions. I think most of the new stuff in this update has been commands and redoing the enchantment system, but the most important things for texturing are giving custom models to blocks, the new stone types, and the new skin format.
I will never understand why people post unfinished threads.
There is no rush to put up your thread. You have as much time as you need to go take like five screenshots. You're not on a time limit, you don't have to put up the thread before getting said screenshots, there is no reason to post your thread before it should be posted.
Currently, nobody knows what your pack looks like, and thus very few will download it.
On a less related note, the Faithful pack requires that you provide a link to it if you're using texture from it, which you apparently have failed to do.
Assuming you are using things from Ovo's Rustic Redemption, rather than the (now outdated) original, you have also failed to request permission on its thread, as the Permission section on said thread said you should.
If the "and more..." means that you have taken textures from even more packs, then you must credit those as well.
You also did not format the title correctly to state for which version of Minecraft this pack is, and what resolution it is.
The dirt (at least, in your screenshots) looks to be taken from Steelfeathers' Enchanted, and I think the sidegrass is an edit of the pack's side-mycelium. I don't see any credit to the pack in the OP.
Are the screenshots outdated, have you forgotten to give credit, or...?
well i wanted to make a kagamine len skin
and len has big eyes and headphones
so i made
big eyes
and
headphones
you can't tell me what to do
-on a (slightly) more serious note, I've taken an interesting in the anime art style, so I will probably end up using big eyes fairly often, if I make more skins. Headphones probably won't apply to much other than Vocaloid skins, though.
On another, even more serious note, Minecraft forums seem really laggy now that I've come back to them. They always have been, a bit, but I don't remember it being this bad. I'm guessing it's due to animated ads or something, as Chrome is telling me that this tab is making sound on and off pretty much all the time. (even if I don't hear anything. .-.)
When suddenly this was made (That picture's a link, so you can just click it to see the actual page if you like)
Also hi

A simple way I can think of keeping the name-change feature from being overused is to just put a small price on it. A dollar, 50 cents? Something that wouldn't be significant unless you abused the feature.

...and seeing it stop updating. Good to see that somebody's revived it.

I think he means that he used CTM(?) to make the sides of blocks that are normally darkened lighter, so that all sides of a block are lit the same.

Anyway, boosted cobblestone contrast and made swirly planks.

uh...
It's been a while.
(Cobblestone, tiled 3x3, scaled 3x and actual size)
Seems I've retained my ability, though. If anything, I've improved!
Edit: I can see now that the contrast is rather low; I'll probably change that.
