Blocks, Items and Crafting Recipes
Bird Meat
Bird Meat is dropped by all of the birds. Just place the raw meat in a furnace to cook yourself some tasty grub!
Book of Birds
This book tells you about all of the birds in game. It includes their picture, the scientific name and a little caption about them. It can be crafted using a normal book and a peacock feather, like so:
Eggs
Eggs can be found in two ways: collected from nests, or laid by birds. All eggs have a 10% chance of spawning a chick when thrown. This can be increased up to 50% by crafting the eggs with blaze powder, adding 20% each time. Any attempt to increase after 50% will consume the powder, but not increase the chance.
There are also unidentifed eggs. These are black with a question mark on them. To indentify these, you must use the egg sorter. See below.
Eggshell
This item will occasionally drop from nests, and also when you throw any of the bird eggs. It can be used like bonemeal to speed up the growth of plants and to grow flowers.
Egg Identifier:
It can be crafted using the following recipe:
Placing unidentified eggs in the top slot and redstone dust in the bottom will result in the eggs being identified. This is not always successful and may produce eggshells.
Incubator:
The incubator can be crafted using the following recipe:
Placing eggs in the top slots and blaze powder in the bottom will level up the eggs. This machine allows the spawn rate to go all the way to 100%! It works on multiple eggs too!
Nests:
Probably the most important part of the mod. You will find these nests sitting atop leaves in your world. Breaking them will drop 0-3 different bird eggs and some sticks. Empty nests can be crafted using the following recipe.
You may right click on the nests to open the GUI.
Peacock Feather:
Dropped by peacocks, these feathers can be used to craft the Book of Birds.
Phoenix Dust:
This dust is used to create a phoenix egg. It can be found as a rare item in abandoned mineshaft chests. One is dropped by a phoenix upon death.
Phoenix Egg:
Phoenix eggs are used to hatch the mythical phoenix. They require a light level of 9 or above to hatch (a flame particle effect will appear when the light level is suitable). These can be found as a rare item in a monster dungeon, extremely rarely found in nests, or crafted by surrounding a chicken egg in phoenix dust.
Phoenix Feather:
Dropped by a phoenix upon death. This feather does not yet do anything.
InstallationThis mod requires the latest version of Minecraft Forge which can be found here: Forge Download. You then drag the .jar file into your mods folder, just like you would with any other mod.

FireandIceMod posted a message on Ice and Fire: Dragons in a Whole New Light! - Build 1.1.0 - 1.11.2 UpdatePosted in: Minecraft Mods
For hundreds of years, Dragons have roamed the lands of the Known World. They are not simply pests and menaces, but the main cause of the loss of many lives. Only a brave few can slay a dragon. Even less can tame one.
Welcome, to Ice and Fire.
Ice and Fire is a mod created by both Raptorfarian and Alexthe666, which hopes to give you a true dragon experience. Currently, Dragons have two types, Ice and Fire. Fire Dragons breathe fire and roam most of the habitable world, whilst Ice Dragons inhabit the coldest places known to man and freeze their prey to death. Both kinds of dragons spawn naturally as adults. Now that both the ice and fire dragons are in we will be focusing on adding new creatures to the mod.
Ice and Fire aims to bring to you a revolutionary dragon experience. It allows role players and mod pack makers, access to all thebasic and advanced needs of a dragon hunter and/ or tamer. These
include, but aren't exclusive to:
Dragon skeletons - these can be found in desert biomes and can be used to collect a few bones
Dragon roosts and caverns - where you can fight dragons and find grand treasures
Dragon eggs - which can be found in dragon caves
Dragon taming and riding - mount up your tamed dragons and even armour them
Dragon equipment - craft tools and weapons from dragon bones and armours from dragon scales
Bestiary - for collecting and learning information with regards to dragons
Additionally now the that the fire and ice dragons are in we will be aiming to perform necessary bug fixes and balance changes in addition to adding new mythical creatures.
Q. What inspired you to make this mod?
Alex666: A. Never have I ever seen a mod represent dragons like I want them. They are always hexapodedal, or they are small or the models are straight up unsatisfying.
Raptorfarian:
A. I've always wanted to have a dragon mod where you had dragons which could be found guarding treasure, hunting farm animals or hunting you. After a long time waiting for the greatly anticipated Red Dragon. I'd had enough and decided to take my 2 years of Minecraft modelling experience to make the dragon mod I've always wanted
Q. Will there be other types of dragons/creatures?
A. We will do additional fantasy creatures that aren't necessarily dragons.
Q. Do you plan on adding other dragon elements e.g. Earth and Lightning?
A. We feel this concept is slightly over used with elements such as Earth and Lightning being potentially more useful and creative if used in conjunction with other creatures. Also The Ice and Fire, Earth and Lightning Mod doesn't have the same ring to it.
Q. Do Dragons come in different colours?
A. Dragons come in 4 different colours per species, and the color darkens as they grow older.
Q. Where are Dragons to be found?
A. Dragons can be found sleeping in caves surrounded by treasure or out hunting for food in their home biome. Fire Dragons are found in extreme hills while Ice Dragons can be found in ice plains and ice spike plains.
Q. Are you able to tame dragons?
A.Dragon taming is planned to be a large part of the mod. Dragons are tamed from obtaining an egg from a stage 4 or 5 dragons (stages will be explained next question). Eggs can then be hatched by heating with fire (fire
dragon) or freezing in a block of ice (ice dragon). You will then have to raise the baby to adult hood. Be cautious however abuse of your dragon may result in it going rogue.
Q. What are dragon stages?
A. The Dragons in our mod slowly grow over time each stage marks a significant change in the dragon after a certain amount of growth. Stages represent a change in colour, horn size, eye shape, diet and abilities of the dragon. As dragons progress in the stage they typically become darker, their wing membrane increases in size allowing flight which starts at stage 3 and develop their characteristic breath at stage 2. At younger stages dragons will only eat rabbits and chickens and as they grow so will the size and quantity of their prey required to sustain them. As dragons go up in rank they unlock new abilities and/or their previous abilities increase in strength. The final dragon rank is
stage 5 which are truly monstrous in size. Only the best Dragon hunters go after those.
Q. Are Dragons ridable?
A. Duh, of course.
Q. What sort of loot can be obtained from Dragons?
A. Dragon caves if found are filled with piles of treasure which can be harvested for gold and occasionally rare gems and items. The Dragons themselves drop scales and bones. Scales can be crafted into armour the colour of which is determined by the dragon and provides and protection bonus against its corresponding type. Bones can be crafted into powerful swords and bows. Dragon Head trophies can also be obtained and of course lots of EXP.
Q. What sort of attacks that Dragons have?
A.Dragons have a large number of attacks. Initially, dragons will only be able to attack by biting at stage 1 though are more likely to run away. At stage 2 they unlock fire/ ice stream. Stream attacks are a gout of flames or ice. Fire stream burns the target and lights the ground it touches with dragon flame ( a faster-burning version of fire). Ice stream slows the target and deals a smaller amount of damage, it also places dragon ice (a more blue form of ice that stacks like snow) and shards of dragon ice which deal damage. At later stages, the size, length and range of the streams will increase. Fire streams being likely to burn down forests while Ice streams being able to completely encase you at later stages. At stage 3 they unlock their next two attacks which come with flight. Swoop and Fire/Ice blast. Swoop is where a dragon will swoop down at the player picking them up then dropping them. Fire blast is an explosive shot which breaks blocks and spreads dragon flame on the ground. While Ice blast will turn blocks into ice and encase the area in a chunk of dragon ice and ice shards.
Q. What's the most effective method of killing Dragons?
A.The best way to take on a dragon is with preparation. You will require a lot of potions and golden apples. To take on the later stage dragons. The best equipment is dragon bone weapons along with armour of the corresponding type. Want to take on a fire dragon. Come wearing fire dragon scale armour and with fire resistance potions and weapons
enchanted with frost aspect (applies slows onto the target and increases damage vs creatures with fire resist) . When facing an ice dragon take ice dragon scale armour, swiftness potions to counter the snowing effects and weapons enchanted with fire aspect. Fire Dragons are immune to fire and Ice Dragons are immune to slows. Both also have a natural resistance to poisons. Fortunately for you finding dragons above stage 3 hunting in the wilds is a rare sight.

I suggest changing the wearable backpacks mod link to the curseforge one as the website you linked is unofficial and can possibly have viruses and does not support the mod creator, but instead hurts them.

Thanks for the input, love the Primitive mobs. I have a question, could one use a mod created for 1.12.1 and run it on 1.12.2?
Yes, you can as it is a very tiny chance of it not working like below 0.0000001 usually.
EDIT; Also some performance mods you may want to look into are Better FPS, FPSReducer FoamFix, TexFix.
So you know the ones I do use are BetterFPS and FPSReducer, so I suggest using the other 2 if you end up with lots of mods.

no_space posted a message on Bird's Foods Mod [VERSION 3.1 for 1.10 - 1.12 and 1.7.10]Posted in: Minecraft ModsBird's FoodsCooking with Vanillav3.0Forge Required
This is intended to be a simple, straightforward mod. I've always wanted more food in Minecraft, but without being overwhelmed with new crops, drops, and inedible in-betweens. Bird's Foods currently adds over 250 new items, all of which are edible and all of which are craftable through vanilla means. I tried to make the recipes as vanilla-balanced and logical as possible, while adding small bonuses to make food more than just a way of keeping your hunger bar filled. Plus, who doesn't love good food.
Latest Update: New foods, Ore Dictionary support, Config options, and a brand new Well Fed effect
New version is available for 1.10.2 - 1.11.2 and 1.12.2
Download

- If a food is good enough - such as if it restores enough hunger or is an end-of-chain recipe - it may be a Quality food, which will give you a temporary 4 heart health boost. Certain legendary foods may give even more bonuses.
- They might make you woozy for a bit, but every alcoholic beverage includes a buff, such as Regeneration or Haste.
- Certain foods, like milk bottles, tea, and a few others, are considered Palliatives. They clear potion effects when eaten just like Milk Buckets, but only negative effects, so now you can cure your poisoning without losing your fire resistance.
- If you're feeling lucky, you can try the infamous pufferfish Fugu. It probably (probably) won't kill you, but facing death down might make you a bit tougher for a little while.
- If you like steak tartare, try a Cannibal Sandwich. If you've got a lot of Rotten Flesh hanging around, try a REAL Cannibal Sandwich. Much less likely to poison you if it's stuck between two slices of bread!
Well Fed - A brand new effect/buff:
- If a food tops up your hunger bar and is of good enough quality, gain the Well Fed bonus!
- Your saturation/hunger loss will be slowed for a short time
- There is a simple calculation running to determine whether a food is good enough - essentially, hunger filled + saturation restored must be at least 20, so you can't get the buff just from snacking on small foods
- Only foods from this mod can provide the Well Fed buff, in order to prevent conflicts
Recipes
There are too many recipes at this point to write them all out, and I recommend using JEI, NEI, or similar mods to keep track.
That said, there are a few basic rules I followed:
- Cheese and Yogurt are frequently used, and are made by crafting Milk with Sugar or a Mushroom
- Almost every new recipe is shapeless, unless there is a vanilla precedent or to avoid recipe conflicts
- Sandwiches can be toasted for an added boost to hunger restored, but you can no longer add ingredients to them once you do!
- Many basic food items can be chopped up by placing them in a crafting window, which opens up new avenues of crafting
- Most drinks are made with one ingredient with a single empty bottle, except Bottles of Milk (which are made with a Milk Bucket or seeds+water bucket and three glass bottles) and alcoholic drinks (which require a fermented spider eye)
- If you need to add a bit of spice, try Blaze Powder
- Bottles of Milk and Milk Buckets can be used interchangeably in recipes, including for vanilla cake
- Yogurt pulls extra duty as mayonnaise and sour cream. Try it in real food too!
- Poisonous potatoes can be crafted from a potato and red mushroom, which can then replace spider eyes in the Fermented Spider Eye recipe. This makes alcohols more accessible and harm-free!

Added 50+ new foods, including toasted sandwiches
Added more alternate recipes for mod foods as well as vanilla foods

A couple minor code changes
Should also be compatible with 1.9.4 now (but has issues with 1.9 for some reason, probably won't be fixed)

Updated for compatibility with 1.11 / 1.10.2
Added over 100 new items, new effects, etc
To Do or not To Do
I'm open to suggestions, but it might be a while before anything is implemented, unless I really like it.
Baseline testing has been done on 1.10.2, 1.11.2, and 1.12, with no apparent issues. Unfortunately, I have little free time for testing these days, so if you encounter any issues, let me know here or on the Curse Forge page.
This mod should play nice with anything that doesn't use the same vanilla recipes, but I'm not an expert. Feel free to use and distribute this as you wish, as long as it's credited.
If you use this in a modpack, I'd love to hear about it!

Support, it would be nice to have a new name tag animal skin.
Your cat may still be alive. My cat ran away from home once. We thought he was dead, but two years later he came back and was meowing at our door.

All of these bows are either useless or over powered.
"Hey guys lets change all of the dipped arrows from 1.9 and all bow enchantments into separate bows so that players have to have a ridiculous amount of bows in their inventory." That is what you are basically saying.
NO SUPPORT.

Notch has not lelf recently, it has been a while. He hated the fame and money. In a few interviews he said it ruined his life. He didn't like it all, he just wanted to make games in his basement.

PVP is not going to die, it is going to be better. The next update is adding skill, strategy, and fun to PVP. I think that the new features like shields and gliding will make it 100% better. PVP was a contest of who gets diamonds first and who can spam click the fastest. I love the new update.
