Never even heard of one. And Aren't there only 3 strongholds in a Minecraft world?

I was using the Too many items mod and placed a unamed block. I destroyed it and some weird thing came out of it and started attacking me. Does anyone know what it is?

I once made this huge wooden mansion. No hacks or TMI. I had a alot of stuff left over and i used all my wood to make the mansion so i couldn't make more chest. so there was lava flowing out of a mountain so i took some lava in a bucket and made some sort of lava garbage disposal in my house. I went mining for like 15 mins and when i came back my house was burned down.
