What Metalwario has is a good set. But I like to throw in at least one piece of Fire Protection IV and perhaps also a piece of Projectile Protection IV instead of all plain Protection IV.

I was under the impression that you could cap out your protection with 2x Prot 4 peices, 1x Fire Prot 4 and 1x Projectile 4?

Too big for those that want small caves, too small for those that want big caves.

Make it an adjustable option on the world builder, but make sure it is flexible enough to accommodate all desires not just the lame tweak sliders that barely make a difference now.

I find a lot of my friends aren't as into games in general as I am, and those that are prefer the high end graphics, thrill-kill games, or set story lines. Minecraft requires a lot of imagination and creativity to keep you interested. Most my friends just don't "get" that aspect of it.

Be nice if the ender dragon re-spawns make it to the 1.9 official update. Dragon raids are hella fun on SMP servers.

IF you have eliminated all other possibilities then you are using a modified client, or doing something untoward in your game files that is causing lag.

1.8.4 literally had nothing but security fixes, if you are having issues that is a red flag for cheats/hacks

Just thought I would put my thoughts in... first Minecraft you "woke up" on a beach.

Maybe Matrix reference is about a new "type" of dungeon aka dimension, that is like entering or coming out of the matrix?

    rambling a bit...

Murphy's Law?? If anything can go wrong it will go wrong? I think you are thinking of Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is usually the correct explanation.

It is possible that he has the map generation algorithm broken down, but if he doesn't have the seed this would be impossible.

So he is either hacking to get the map seed, or is hacking to have "X-ray" vision.

Alternatively he may of logged on and set up illusions by deliberately placing Diamond ore somewhere and back-filling with smooth stone.

However I think you will find the premise of Occam's Razor is applicable here.

You make some valid points yourself, however I believe that your statement about limited funds is rather ludacris. I'm feeling lazy and don't care enough to look for a link to support this but the sales of Minecraft have gone up not to mention that their is a flood of new tex / skin packs for console versions. Plus we can't forget the dozen or so people that use realms (that was a joke i don't think its that many (HA joke in a joke! its joke-ception))

I'm not saying they don't have the funds, I just know from a business point of view there is no justification for the expenditure. Businesses doesn't look at profits and think, "you know what, we should put all this money back into development for a better product but have no discernible change in sales."

I don't mind that they are focusing on combat for an update. It does need to be revamped. My worry is that they forget about us builders and redstoners.I have recently began a new focus on building and was almost disgusted with the lack of tools to use in vanilla Minecraft. Fill, Clone, and Right Click is all we are given which is sad for a game that originated as a building game. I admit the new commands they added in 1.8 were very helpful for myself and many others. There are A LOT of thing that just wouldn't be possible with out /execute. I don't think they have forgotten about builders. The change in the game required to add the building tools required for creative is a huge task. I think they are just delaying this to find the best approach.

The point I am getting to is that Mojang needs more staff. Divide and conquer each aspect of the game (building, combat, redstone) and release major updates that contain content that appeals to all of them. How do you propose Mojang afford a team for each aspect of the game considering we don't pay for updates, ongoing play, or expansions etc? While this is the best approach for development of the game, they are going to be on a tight budget and can only do so much.

A second option is to make modding easier for players. We are hopelessly and perpetually at the mercy of update to MCP, Forge, and Lite Loader. If the core of the game engine hasn't reached a stable environment by now then quite frankly Mojang has their heads up their rear. I'm not a modder but my limited knowledge leads me to this conclusion. Mojang like that the game is being modded, but they can't redesign the whole thing to better accomodate modding. Again this comes back to cost. They want to keep the modding community and provide updates but the Modding community is generally self sustaining and as long as you don't have to pay for mods, only the passionate are going to be making mods with no other goal than to provide good content.

As for the EULA not being enforced I agree with you there. A recent experience I had with an Illegal server involved me joining into their cash shop while the owner was on, asked him if he knew he was violating the EULA, then getting told yeah but who cares. And that's just the thing about it, no one cares to enforce it. I'm starting to ramble now so I'll stop here but my in my opinion we need EULA enforcement, more builder tools, and redstone tools. I totally agree. Mojang (or hell, Microsoft considering it is their property now) should employ at least one person to consistently trawl servers and issue breach notices. If they did this for a month it would clean up the servers a lot quicker. The problem is players can make a change too. I don't stay in servers that have donations or cash broken mechanics.

Overall I agree with some of your points. I think the whole idea of how we as players want updates is in complete contradiction to cost/benefit analysis on behalf of Mojang though. I do agree I would love their to be a dev team for Building, Redstone, Combat (and for that matter Mapping and Modding interface team too!) I just can't see how this would generate the sales needed to justify the cost.

Great response Mister_mystery_! (albeit a double post).

There isn't much more I can add to this other than my opinion. If anything I think it is the builders, the redstoners and the explorers that are going to survive long-term. I did enjoy PvP for a short time but it was (or is) a very linear game style. Considering the other games I play (Battlefield 4) I don't see why I would choose Minecraft for my PvP desires. I choose minecraft for its open, lego-style world that allows me to mine and build and create on my own terms.

I still come across magnificent builds that teams do on a regular basis (http://www.reddit.com/r/minecraft).
