The obvious, quick-and-dirty workaround is to remove the animated graphics from the texture pack, i.e., the clock, the compass, fire, water, et cetera. The game will then load the default texture for those items and graphics, so you can at least see through flowing water and use your compass or clock. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the texture pack changes 1.5 brought about and figure out not only where everything goes, but what it's freakin' *named* now.
I also noticed that still water under the texture pack is default, regardless of whether it's patched via MCPatcher or whether there's a water graphic in the texture pack or not. Which is weird, that it replaces the EldPack water with the default water, then tells us we're missing the flowing water graphic even though if it was working correctly, it wouldn't match up with the still water anyway.
I also tried using MCPatcher's new Convert Texture Pack feature, which is supposed to take an old-format texture pack and, ostensibly, convert it to the new format. I did it with my old custom Eldpack blend, and, while compasses actually showed up as something other than "missing graphic," they were blank, so I don't know if the clock dial is separate from the rest of the clock. So whatever new file the clock is supposed to be in is there, though it's not formatted right, or something. I'll poke at it some more.
Yeah I tried doing that myself but I still couldn't get it to work.
But then again I suck at these sorts of things.
Mar 14, 2013Well everything's working fine now that the game updated. Only issue I'm having is the Enderman have glowy white heads and white bodies. Other than that. Texture works nicely.Posted in: Resource Packs
Mar 14, 2013Anyone else getting this?Posted in: Resource Packs
Basically it's 'texture missing' whenever the water is flowing, and when things are on fire. I downloaded the pack from the OP. I've also used MC patcher. Still a no go. Not a big deal. Just thought I'd see if I was alone.

LOL, there should be a fire texture in there. Although that would make me laugh stupidly every time someone caught on fire. "OMG FIRE! IT SAYS FIRE!"
Not sure if something is in the wrong place or not. It's working for me so far, but I'm still using the snapshots...
Maybe that's it. I'm not using snapshots. I did MCpatcher as well but still a no go. Maybe it's because I'm on a mac...? But I don't see how that would have anything to do with a texture pack.
Mar 13, 2013This is a great texture pack. I'm new to it however. I'm only having one issue. Whenever someone/something catches fire...instead of there being actual fire, there's instead giant red text that says 'FIRE'. I get a good laugh from it, but has that texture not been made yet? Or am I just doing it wrong? Knowing me I am haha.Posted in: Resource Packs
Oct 31, 2011combat in minecraft has always been dodgy. It's hard to tell how close you need to be to land a hit....not to mention the simple action of combat looks stale.Posted in: 1.0 Update Discussion
methinks they could of done a lot better. Right now the combat reminds me of Morrowind. Shitty. Everything else is great. But that combat man...boring.
Oct 2, 2011all this talk of climate and ****....whether or not it's something we can or can't control doesn't mean we shouldn't be responsible with the planet we live on.Posted in: General Off Topic
Yes lets just use and abuse everything. Not give two flying ****s about the creatures that inhabit the planet.
I mean, where I work I can't even get customers to throw **** away. They leave all their receipts scattered around self check. And the funny thing is there's two, count'em TWO, trash cans right next to the damn things.
LAZY. We're just ****ing lazy and stubborn as a species.

I'd rather not get into a political debate as of now, I'm rather tired.
But, I don't know, government controlling most everything... Just seems, tyranical, don't you think?
Not really all that different from big corporations controlling everything.

This is actually generally, sadly, true. The only time people around here stop and tell you to go is when they don't know the rules of the road. And Americans do generally tend to be obnoxious when travelling. It's very unfortunate.
But you have to realize, the person in question is a Texan. Texans tend to be the..."special" people of America.
Oh god I'm in tears.
