The poll is simple. Divided into two choices
Just Combat: You're only there for action and nothing else. You don't care about the reason mobs are fighting - you just want to see them fight
Combat with Story: You're there for the action but you'd like a story. You would like to know why the mobs are fighting
Your feedback matters and will help me decide how to better present and shape my upcoming combat animations

I have an AMD Atholon II 2GB ram and 2Tb hdd all in one comp from 2011 that runs Minecraft up til 1.12 just fine. It starts to stutter at 1.13 and pretty much goes into BSOD if I attempt to run 1.14
You'll be fine with your specs. Actually you'll probably be able to run 1.14 without an issue. I'm jealous
Honestly I wouldn't bother as it won't run modern versions, maybe it will run 1.7.10 and earlier, it's about a 2009 laptop
Age only becomes a factor dependent on the wear and tear of the components. How often was the laptop used? What was it's primary use? These things determine hardware's lifespan. Given the specs, which are reasonable and better than mine, they should be able to run recent versions of MC rather alright
My only concern would be what exactly caused the HDD to fail. Was it aged or was it a PSU problem? With a dead PSU that always risk the chance of shorting out the motherboard in which case the laptop is trash and needs to be repaced entirely
I second this. I started out a the tail end of Alpha in October 2010 and I still have my original Alpha generated world named Albion. Before that though I was playing Classic
Fancy a bit of ice skating in a cemetery? How about collecting hidden creeper heads? Hey there are even funny tombstones to be read. Built this winter cemetery from an inspiration of a nearby cemetery. Here's a video. You can find a link to the download in the description
I should try this mod again. I tried it out and was even going to make a series around it on my channel but I got distracted by other things and then COVID happened. What's great is that I currently play on 1.12.2. Its great to see you still working on it. I enjoyed it quite a bit the first time I tried it. Love me some good outer space gaming
Its like lanterns. They were originally going to be added in the Halloween Update in 2010 but they were put in the bin until 1.14 when they were released. They were going to replace torches as a permanent source of light, and torches would die out and need to be relit but community response at the time wasn't favorable for that
i know its so terrible how Mojang have updated their game and made it have more features and not just said 'oh well its sold loads lets stop doing anything and make a second game we can sell to people for more money.
but seriously you are on java, which means you can play any version you want, don't like the update...then don't update and play an older version just like themastercaver does i'm sure he will be along soon to point out what he doesn't like and how he runs his own version of 1.6? instead of updating to modern versions, which i applaud him for doing all the work he does into his own version he enjoys alot
Its a blast. I started a Minecraft Alpha world this past weekend and I've been playing on that non stop, even added a few old mods that I used to play with to help transition the process. Gosh it feels great being back in simpler times. Doing everything by hand and not being able to switch into creative mode to get something I need. And the biome colors. The minty green and jungle green lush grass color. That is what I miss. People want to talk about survival minecraft. Please. Commit yourself to trying Minecraft Alpha or Beta before 1.8 for at least one day. That is true survival hahaha. It takes me back to my days in Alpha
But lose the magic? No. I mean the game might have lost its flavor in later versions but the magic and appeal is still there.
Or if you are playing Java Edition you can download NBTExplorer which is a data editor. You load that, open your save file and then select change gamemode from 0 to 1
