Dack105 posted a message on [1.7.2] Stock 32 - [WIP] Beta [v3] - Detailed and Unified Default TexturesPosted in: WIP Resource Pack! ! !This is discontinued.Check out Lithos by Eleazzaar, it's actively developed and of a similar style.
You are all free to use these textures in any way you want other than simply re-distributing them for profit without significant original work (you can use it as a base for your new pack or do a continuation).! ! !This is pretty much my version of the Faithful texture pack. I always thought that people where mildly crazy for using faithful, and I thought that I could do a better job without much effort, so a made a couple of textures... then I never stopped. I've gotten to the point now where I'd really appreciate some detailed and nitpicking critiques, especially considering that this is my first attempt at 32x textures.
I currently have most of the blocks and items done along with some random bits. I'm also using the fonts and art of some other artists (credited at the bottom of the post).
Some pretty (old) pictures for your eyes:

Thanks to both of them for making those awesome things and allowing people to use them!

SpeedyCube posted a message on Faithful is the best recource pack(my opinion no hate pls)Posted in: Resource Pack DiscussionI'll take this opportunity to advertise Lithos, a "Faithful-like" pack that uses only textures made from scratch and has lots of block models, alternate blocks, CTM, mod support, etc, and that's done at a much higher artistic standard than Faithful. It's a much better pack, if I do say so myself.

pir_anha posted a message on 32x LITHOS - Default-Style, Detailed & Complete - 1.5x - 1.15x and beyond!Posted in: Resource PacksThis is an absolutely lovely pack, and while I have always worked on my own just for fun, I am actually using yours for 1.8+ because my own is too far behind and yours matches my taste so well. It's just the right mix of faithfulness to original Minecraft, replacing the butt-ugly water, and updating with small details that make playing with it more enjoyable. Thanks so much for making and sharing it! I'll add you to the people to whom I periodically made donations if I'll find whether you have a donate button anywhere.
Also thanks to Dodge34 for recommending Quark, of which I'd not heard before -- I've tried to use another mod that attempts some of the same things (adding the missing block types from vanilla building materials), but it is not playing well with my 1.9 mod setup. Quark has some other nice features, so I'll be trying it right away.

Quanni123X posted a message on Looking for Pvp ResourcePacksPosted in: Resource Pack Discussion
"PVP" stands for "Practically Vattic's Pack" don't ya know.
It might be interesting if some people tried to change that, though. Maybe by having legitimate add-ons for packs that do these things, people will patronize the actual artists rather than the thieves. Then again, considering how the PvP community is by and large, having PvP add-ons might just incentivize said community to steal people's packs and claim them as their own more than they already do.
Guess we'll find out.
I've been trying.
I'm disappointed with the lack of creativity that goes on within the competitive community as far as resource packs go. There's a few that are unique, but are mostly 16x16 edits of default (See; Plast Pack, Infinite Pack).
Nobody wants to branch out anymore. Nobody seems to be putting in the time to make clever or detailed textures anymore. Rather than practice creativity in pixel art, everybody's playing it safe by making simple default edits or combining hundreds of textures from many different packs in hopes of their pack becoming popular.
I get that not everybody's into detailed or even good-looking textures, but it has gotten to the point where the average person doesn't even know that resource packs aside from the default or generic pvp edit exist. This saddens me because so many talented artists making packs on these forums are being overshadowed by the lazy.
That's why I'm such a huge fan of Lithos. It's a faithful-to-default pack that has the refreshing creativity that we need.

Intuos is my weapon of choice. I've used Intuos pretty much exclusively for the better part of a decade.
Those are really slick. I love the crisp lines.
