Just as a suggestion, you should clean out all the .DS_Store files before zipping your package. It'll make the file smaller. Those files are only there because your Mac hides them there when you browse through the directory.
You guys are right. I downloaded my pack from adfly and it crashed minecraft. It looks like my upload got corrupted somehow, because downloading directly causes the crash.
I've replaced the corrupt upload and tested it by downloading and playing. Looks like we're good now.
Okay, it is definetly the pack from adfly. I redownloaded it and attempted it again. Same crash. Something is wonky with it. Went back to the other pack from Curse and no problems.
Thanks for investigating. There's one intentional difference between my two download links. The "readme" file in the pack hosted by Curse is a .TXT rather than a .RTF with bold & italic formatting, since Curse won't accept .RTF files. I've always been doing things this way, but maybe it is an issue with windows 8 and/or maybe something with 1.7.2 has changed that makes it more of an issue.

I didn't have a problem with the older pack.
Umm, that's weird. If you remove my pack, does it not crash? It runs crash-free for me.
I'm not tech-savvy enough to get a lot out of the bug report, and i also have no idea of what i could have done with the texture pack to make it crash minecraft.
If removing the pack solves the problem, perhaps the pack got corrupted as you downloaded it. You might try re-downloading it and see if that makes a difference.
Welcome the new trees! This version adds complete support for the new Acacia and Dark Oak trees-- even CTM for the trunks.
I've also added the a few files for ExtraBiomes XL, the complete set of planks, grasses, and a few other blocks that i have had sitting on my computer for a long time.
See the top of this thread for the Changelog and to Download.
I must say you really keep impressing me.. Your pack is amazing. Also from what I can see the log coloration's are on point. Beautiful work
ps.. Realease it already, its driving me mad!!!!
Thank you very much. I gotta at least get the new leaf blocks done before i release, though i still have double-tall plants before i complete the new 1.7 content. I haven't decided exactly how much i need to get done before a release.
He's done it again! Yay! Looks awesome! I was just beginning to think how much it would suck to have to use vaattics log textures rather than yours and bam! I have to say you are the best texture pack artist I have seen
Thanks to players like you Lithos has gone from #50 in downloads to #12 all in the space of a week! I'm honored by your support.
And in my opinion there are artists out there making distinctly higher quality packs than mine. Fortunately for me they are mostly working in different niches.
what i do to see the mos famous mod i go to the mod section in the forum, see wich are the most recently updated topics... wait like 10/20 minutes the reload the page. repeat the proces a few times and see wich are the mods that stayed on the first places
That would somewhat correlate with popularity, but a big reason people post in those threads is bugs.

I may try that next time.

Are you on windows 8 also? Your crash report would also be appreciated, there might be something different.
Good. Please let me know what happens...

It's a bug-- and it effects much more than the beds.
Mojang has made it a priority to fix.

But that takes me to this.

The metadata values are the same for all the things that come in 16 colors.
Or check the minecraft wiki:

At the top part of the image symbols are being replaced with accented characters. I think it has something to do with language support.

Right, pistons have their own textures. The style in vanilla, however, is very similar to the furnace/dropper/dispense.
