    The red sand is a hard choice. I want it to look decent next to red sandstone, and also regular sand, as it often appears next to rivers and oceans. Meshing well with both is hard.

    what would the files look like for making alternative textures for stone brick? Having a bit of trouble here :(

    Then look at a pack that does that does the thing you want to do.

    My Lithos has alternate textures for stone brick (and most common blocks), but so do many of the prominent packs.

    Yes, only my total devotion to greed can explain why I have spent hundreds of hours creating a complete texture pack that's been downloaded for free nearly 1/4 a million times.

    Awesome work, any chances we see a full texture support for all mods in the FTB Infinity Evolved pack, I had to go back to Faithful32 ME to get a complete pack since there's around 188 mods in the pack.

    I've recently had more people interested in helping with the mod support, and hopefully that trend continues, but for Lithos doesn't have nearly the contibuting user base that Faithful does. Its the sort of thing that in the best case scenario, nobody will be playing before we got half-way.

    I'm much more interested in most common textures of the major mods that are in lots of packs, and ideally are still being updated. Of course volunteers are free to work on whatever textures they want, but I nudge them towards mods like Biomes O Plenty and Thaumcraft.

    Asking for a giant modpack doesn't do anything, but I'm always interested in hearing what mod's non-Lithos texture bug you the most.

    Lithos:Core 1.04 for 1.7, 1.8 and 1.9 is released!

    This release contains some big CTM improvements, along with a complete sandstone overhaul.

    The 1.7x version has a lot of mod support: Eonaut has almost completed Twilight Forest, and added Aether GUIs, and Natura get some big updates. I've also provided minor additions for ChocoCraft Items, ExtraBiomes XLs, and OpenBlocks.

    Try a little lot more description of what exactly you've done. We can't identify the error without any information.

    Hello, I am looking for someone willing to make about 20-25 foliage textures, in a 16x16 or 32x32 resolution. I have a list of species most of the flower or grass type block, but some types of vines, water lilies as well as fungi and mushrooms and leaf blocks. I want these textures legitimately realistic, while staying in the lower resolutions.

    ...

    That's not a casual bit of work.

    Either you need to offer money, or at least describe what you are doing with them so some artist might be excited by your vision and offer to help.

    Villagers and any mobs that are in subfolders for default also need to be in subfolders of the same name for random mobs.

    Put the villagers in a subfolder named "villager".

    As an aside, if I increase the weighting on the primary sand texture, do I have to keep it proportional to how many textures I intend to use for my alternates, or can I increase it to effectively offset the 'randomized' textures?

    The numbers you use for weighting need have no connection to the number of textures.

    Is there a way to make it so if there's a block above the block it'll be different, so if you have a stack of the same block, the top block would be different.

    Not with blockmodels. For that you need the CTM features MCPatcher and Optifine provide.

    With "cube_all" as the parent, "top", "bottom" and "side" are meaningless. "cube_all" just uses "all".

    Include this model in your block folder, and then parent your sand to it. I call it "cube_bottom_top", but you can call it anything as long as the filename matches.

    {
     "parent": "block/cube",
     "textures": {
     "particle": "#side",
     "down": "#bottom",
     "up": "#top",
     "north": "#side",
     "east": "#side",
     "south": "#side",
     "west": "#side"
     }
    }

    It doesn't work because you are totally skipping a step. The Blockmodels file should point to the models .JSON file, which then references individual .PNGs. It looks like you are going straight from blockmodles to .PNGs. Won't work.

    Hi I am trying to make my own custom edit on a resource pack but when I saved it it saved as a txt doc. instead of a mcmeta file and I don't know how to change it back. Do you think you can help me?

    An .mcmeta file is simply a plain text file with the .mcmeta extension. Simply rename the file.

    Yes, an item need have no connection to how the block looks.

    You just need to point the item's .JSON file to a different model that uses the texture you want.
