So I finally decided to pick up MineCraft [was banned from PayPal for refusing to pay a negative five dollar balance on my account due to them adding it out of the blue 6 months without ever using my PayPal account], and my bank is being shifty with me on my credit card [as in taking forever to mail it], so I got my friend to gift me it and I just gave him some money.
Now i'v noticed online people mentioning survival, creative and classic out of context [since people who've been playing will know this, no one ever mentions anything about it], and I am wondering what the differences are between them? ^^

it must have some problems in it. just dont change it. leave the file the same it was. also use MCpatcher to remove other problems regarding HD texture packs.
Well I didn't remove anything or change any of the files. All I did was extract the .rar to a folder so I could re-archive it to a .zip. I guess i'll try the MCpatcher, even though the readme with the DOKU files never mentioned it.
Well i'v run the MCPatcher, as well as redownloaded and re-copied the texture pack into the correct folder. It shows up, but in game still no texture changes.

Well I went through all the forum topics and I didn't see anything regarding my issue, or anything similar so I wasn't sure where to post it. So I am hoping this part is.
I am trying to use a texture pack [more specifically, DOKU_RPG_V1.2_FLOWERS], and since his are in a .rar format. I changed the archive type to .zip and added it to my texture packs folder for MC. Now it shows up in the list, and I can select it. However, when I select it and go into a game, it is still using the default textures. Anything I am missing here?
