Hello everyone, first post =)

I've created the vertical flip flop and was trying to get the data line away from the flip flop without affecting any other wires or torches but I'm having a difficult time. I'm a computer engineer by trade, but the mechanics of how to place redstone and the torches to get it to do what you want is enough to make me run into a moving truck in frustration. Maybe someone can help me out.. I'm working with this:



I was able to get the clock line no problem by drilling underneath the gate... but I'm having a horrible time extending the data line away from the gate without affecting other lines.. can someone show or describe how I can get the data line away from this circuit so I can hook it up to the other flops?

The end result is I want to make an 8 bit compact shift register. I can do this easily by making the flip flops horizontal, but when I try to do it vertical to save space, I just can't seem to join the data lines together without screwing everything up.. help!! :smile.gif:
