posted a message on How long do you think Minecraft will survive?
The thing that fundamentally limits how long minecraft can go is that you only pay once. I know that sounds good to you, but Minecraft is one of the best selling games of all time. Eventually, everybody who is interested will have bought the game, and growth will slow. That isn't yet, but it would be coming in the next few years, I think. After that, Mojang will either need to add expansion packs or some other method of getting money.

posted a message on Minecraft Competition?
Well, http://voxelfarm.com/vfweb/index.html is one, once it comes out. Space engineers is another. See, you say you want a competitor but not a clone. How do you do that? Most games that aren't clones are specialized, like "minecraft in space" or "minecraft with physics". For something to stand toe to toe with minecraft it would have to be more similar. I can see VoxelFarm doing it, but we'll have to see.

As for hurting or helping: A competitor would hurt minecraft, though probably not kill it. It would improve the genre, as we've seen with voxelfarm and space engineers.

Not to be rude or anything, but there aren't that many people who would want to edit for no pay. When you are getting started, I think it might be better to learn to edit your videos yourself and then, if you get very popular, get others to help you. Being by yourself or with friends means that you control everything about the channel; you don't depend on somebody you hardly know. Learn to fend for yourself first, that's just my advice. Anyways, good luck

OCD is a pretty disorder, and I think it's a bit insulting to compare it to "uuhrrhggh torch in wrong place ooohhgmhygosh."

Just to clear things up, a ship when talking about the internet is people making up a relationship between two people. So OP would be drawing/writing fiction with a romantic relationship between Sky & Deadlox for example.

This is actually really creepy. I mean, it's fine if it's ponies or trolls or sonic the hedgehog getting shipped, but real life people? 0_0

    I don't ship any youtubers.

posted a message on Business wise is it a mistake for Mojang to not at least start on the ground work for MC2?
    Quote from ANARKY

Expansion packs wouldn't work with what they've already been doing and the promise of free updates to the game even after the game left beta, expansion packs would cause an uproar since thats basically what we've already been getting for free in patches.

Oh yes, such an uproar like the one we just had about the EULA? Reddit rages for a few days, then everybody shuts up. Mojang could pitch it as a way to allow modders to monetize their mods and get payed for their work, and they would be hailed as one of the most progressive studios around. In fact, it would be pretty amazing if modders could get money for their work. I'd like that a lot, and I'd happily pay for unofficial expansions like FTB.

What would be much better buisnesswise would be to allow some sort of marketplace or P2W business model. But Mojang doesn't want that, and that's what has led us here. What I would personally like is a few expansion packs, like FTB, that could be unlocked with around $2-5. Mojang could take a cut, and the modders could get the rest. That's money for mojang, and mod support.

posted a message on How do I type in different languages
Assuming you know a language, you type in it. If it has special symbols (eg ñ), you will need a keyboard that has support for typing those keys. A quick google search will set you up on how to change your keyboard layout. Alt keys didn't work for me, so I copy-pasted a ñ in to test and it works.

    Quote from CanaryCasserole
I am always sick of the kids that think a joke about excretion or urine is instantly funny. Other than that, they're fine.

Well, never go to highschool or college or grad school or a career. It just gets worse.

posted a message on Survey: What is your opinion on "little" kids playing on Minecraft Servers
My sister is 11, female, and watches a bunch of youtubers. Sort of your classic, annoying child right?

Nope. My sister is an incredible builder, PVPer, and redstoner, but the one thing she is not is rude. It's actually surprising seeing her on a minecraft server because she's a total jerk (Wait, is jerky censored? To be clear, I used jerky minus the y, nothing worse.) in real life. (To everybody, including her friends.) But on a minecraft server, she uses perfect grammar, acts as a good sport, and if she uses chat, it will be to ask or answer a question. If people are rude to her, she just shrugs it off. Minecraft is actually the one place where I would say she is mature. Now yes, some kids (Including my past self, in some occasions), are total idiots. But to generalize to all kids? That's dumb.

The biggest tip I can give all kids is: Don't say your age. That way, if people end up treating you badly, it's not because they were prejudiced. It's because either they or you were jerks. If you don't say your age, it lets people make assumptions. People have thought I was 25 back when I was 12, simply because I was mature enough. Saying your age is like minecraft server suicide.
