What you think makes a good Minecraft server: cities, kind people, no griefing, working together and having fun!

Why do you want to join us?: My dad (Daknor) and his friends play on the server. I've been watching him play and would like to join as well! I think the server is cool! :)

Uzumi, both Daknor and myself will gladly vouch for Aieta to join, I see that he's underage according to normal rules. :)

    cant wait for 1.5_01 update!

    This.

Also, your AdFly links are absolutely horrible. It's impossible to get past ads that redirect the browser window, which is 90% of them. For anyone else having issues, I had to open the HTML of the AdFly page up to get the direct download link: -modsnip-

Music files cannot be replaced from what I remember. I believe the game reacquires them from the Mojang servers when you start Minecraft if their checksums don't match the originals.

posted a message on Minecraft SMP Crashes with Java 7
    Title says pretty much everything.

    I'm running:
    - Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)
    - AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-core @ 3.0 GHz
    - 4GB DDR2 @ 1066 MHz
    - ATI Radeon 5770
    - Minecraft 1.4_01
    - Java 7 (x86 and x64 installed, build 136)

Everything worked perfectly until I installed Java 7's JRE (build 136). Now with Java 7, I cannot play on SMP servers without Minecraft crashing; No error message shows. Well, one seems to show for a split second, but the window closes too fast for me to read it. I can play SSP without issues.

I would just roll back to Java 6, except I'm doing development work with Java 7 for another piece of software. Has anyone experienced a similar crash? If so, is there a solution? I'd be completely willing to just find a way to force Minecraft to use Java 6, but because of the launcher, I can't specify the launch parameters of the .JAR, and if I launch the .JAR directly I'm not logged in, so I still can't play SMP...

    Anyone?

Nobody's even commented to say if this works or not? I think I'm a little less trusting of it already...

EDIT: Tested and works great! Thank you for the update!

You keep getting that link from people because this isn't the Zicore support forum.

If you're having issues with Zicore, direct them to the appropriate forum.

posted a message on Connections dropped from my server
    Quote from TheWillProject »
... I've gotten it to work before when I was plugged directly into the modem with absolutely no issues, but one thing I've noticed is that http://whatismyip.com shows that my external IP is different when I'm on my modem, and different when I'm on my router. ...

Most ISPs assign an IP address based on the device's MAC address (think of it like a serial number), and therefore when your router is connected, you'll get one IP, and when your PC is directly connected you'll get another. This is why many (if not most) routers include an option called "MAC Address Cloning", which allows the router to "lie" about its MAC address and report the same MAC as another device in the house (such as your PC) to obtain the same IP you'd get while directly connected.

If nobody can connect from outside your network, either port forwarding isn't set up properly, or you're giving them the wrong IP to connect to. (Being disconnected seconds later is a different problem entirely.) Please note that when you disconnect and reconnect from your router, your PC might be given a different INTERNAL IP as well (192.168.x.x) so make sure your port forwarding matches your PC's internal IP. (You can bypass this issue by setting your PC to use a static IP address, instructions can be found here.)

Once you've got people connecting, let us know if you're able to keep them connected for any length of time, or if not, what error you're seeing.

Very easily. In server.properties, change level-name=. The server will create a new world-folder to match the level-name setting. Your old world will still exist, and you only need to change the level-name back to the original setting to get back to your old world.
