not saying that it's going to run with many cores but will it still work?

I would go with all 3 of them, plus Equivalent Exchange and Forestry. Wikis are not a very good information source for begginer (except EE), if you want to know how to get started I think youtube videos are the best, for example Direwolf20 videos. They very well complement each other and make crazy contraptions possible. There are also some very helpful additional mods like Logistic pipes, NEI, Advanced IC2 machines, or Iron chest. I specially recommend Logistic pipes, they make inventory management a pleasure, not a choir, even with a lot of mods installed. There are also some awesome bigger mods that work well with them, like Thaumcraft, Mystcraft or Railcraft, but they are not necessary.
I wouldn't go with watered down industrial mods because this setup seems to be the most popular and allows for really advanced systems (possibilities are endless). Remember that behavior of some things may be not intuitive in the beginning, test things in creative mode, or with NEI cheats (they are not wrong if you remember not to cheat yourself, the same thing is with EE).

Okay I am so new about those industrial mods like Buildcraft,Redpower,Industrialcraft etc.
I'm a noob when it comes to these industrial mods and have no idea on how to use them.
Can you guys recommend me a good industrial mod that is also noob friendly?
(especially with the redstone stuffs I don't know how to use that)
