i would like to see a Tetrapodophis (a large, LEGGED snake)
you could then proceed to add in snakes that spawn around your world like normal,
so then you would collect the DNA from the snake to use in fulfilling the Genome of Tetrapodophis
after that, you place the DNA in the Culture vat.
(i would like to suggest 4 different snakes not including Tetrapodophis)
for the vanilla snakes there would be four types:
Python: which is large, brown, and with darker brown patches/spots (spawns in Jungle and Savannah biome, not the plains biome.)
Rattlesnake: smaller snake, that is red with a diamond patters, and a rattle for a tail, rattles when you get close.. adds Poison II when bit. spawns in Desert and Mesa Biomes
Garter snake: a black snake, with blue stripes, very small. spawns in Forest biome, Taiga, Mega Taiga, and any other kind of biome except Ice Spikes, Cold Beach, Ice Plains, Mushroom and any cold biome that isn't Taiga Related.
Hissroom(okay, you know i had to add a make believe animal in here, it wouldn't be minecraft otherwise) ass you can tell from the name, it is a play on words similar to the mooshroom, like the mooshroom it is a combination of a animal, and a shroom. unlike the mooshrom, it is a snake, this snake is a python-sized red spotted snake with brown mushrooms on top. it only spawns in caves that are under the mooshroom biomes. and is interesting indeed.
depending on what snake you use to complete the genome - the Tetrapodophis will have different attributes.
for example: if you use the Hissroom to complete the genome the Tetrapodophis will have a red tint to its scales.
if you use a Rattlesnake the Tetrapodophis will have a rattle on its tail.
if you use a Garter snake.. well lets just say thats how you get the default Tetrapodophis
If you use the Python, it will turn out twice the size of the default Tetrapodophis and will have the Python texture.
Tell me what ya think, Devs!

Don't know if it's been discussed or not, but I would to see a sort of "Cambrian Explosion" update, including a variety of Cambrian era creatures. Is this something being planned? Would love to see all the little guys in the water
Will there be skins for creatures? Not like the crazy Primal carnage or the isle skins,i'm talking about real life variations, such as melanistic, albino, dark, etc.
yes, in the future, we are first focusing in releasing it.
*insert intro here since i'm too lazy to make one*
Concept: Poison, Death, The Plague Name: Breath of Death (i will call it BOD in this suggestion since i'm too lazy to type it all out) What it does: BOD would spawn in the swamp biome very rarely, and when the player is in its view (which would be about 50 or so blocks) would actively try to chase them down. once you have been caught by BOD, he will disappear and give you some sort of secret debuff that would slowly kill you in a special way. after BOD has give you this special debuff, nothing would happen to you for about 1-2 in game days for the effects to begin. the first effect would be the player randomly taking little to no damage and rarely making coughing noises. the second effect, which would begin after 1 in game day, would show you the buff that you have, called "The Plague", and would randomly give you poison. damage and coughing is also more common and the damage does more. the third in game day would make your screen edges tinted slightly green, increases monster aggro (view), allows BOD hallucinations spawn that run at you then disappear, serving no purpose other than scaring the player, and allows you to be a "Plaguebringer" that gives mobs around you the chance to get The Plague too. damage and coughing is increased the same amount as last time. the fourth and final day would kill you as you cough, wheeze, and die a painful death (damage can now, and will, kill you). you may be wondering, "well Shamos, how do you cure The Plague?". well, you need to end The Plague the way the Barakoa's did it, by killing the ones who had it using the cure! the cure, called Barako's Brew, is 1. a uncommon drop from the sun chief himself, 2. a lootable drop from dungeon chests and stuff with the same loot as dungeon chests, and 3. craftable as a potion from a brewing stand with a special mushroom found growing in caves.
To restate: Mechanic: enemy that gives you a debuff that is not noticeable until its effects begin taking place, and that begins to kill you unless you find the cure.
Design considerations:
- BOD could be some sort of green smog that hovers.
- BOD hallucinations could be black.
- The Cure and the mushrooms used in making The Cure could be very brightly colored to show that they're useful.
- The Cure could have some sort of description that says its used to cure The Plague.
- The Cure could be made similar to Rabbit Stew, using many other herbs and such.
Alternatives:
Facehugger-like creatures that jump onto your head
The Plague is spread by a facehugger-like creature that hugs onto your face and The Plague is now renamed to "Chest Pain"
when you die of "Chest Pain", a creature spawns where you died so it looks like it burst out of your chest that could grow into one of the facehugger-esque creatures
full credit for this base goes to CowsInGravy
also, i got another idea for an Orion-like enemy i might make Soon™
EDIT: also, has the Barakoa following problem been fixed?
Haast's eagle: a large eagle that lived in New Zealand during the Holocene (modern day) Diet, carnivore that will attack prey near the size of a human (it will eat human sized prey on the ground where it killed it however smaller prey will be carried off into a tree), Temperament: aggressive if approached or attacked or if their nest is approached, will also attack rarely if hungry, Breeding: Haast's mate for life and will stick together as a pair and will build a nest to lay their eggs in.
Moa:a large ground-dwelling bird from the Holocene of New Zealand (modern day), Diet: herbivore that will eat most vegetation, Temperament: passive unless attacked then it will attack like a cassowary and runaway, Breeding: a pair will breed and then the female will leave after the male builds a nest the male will attack anything that gets near the nest.
It's anthropornis not kiruku, but the other 2 is correct.
Don't worry, Haast eagle is under progress and the moa too.
I'm pointing out that this mod has been untouched for a year, it make sense if you can't work on it for 2 semesters(8 months) straight. But what about winter break, spring break, summer break, or any kind of extended vacation you might have?
