This may not be the flashiest mod, but it's very high on my list of "improves Minecraft gaming experience".
Thank you very much.

get 7zip. No really, its free, it's functional, its free, its compatible with damn near everything and ITS FREE.
Oh, and don't forget that it's free.
so's winRAR, which makes the top post of this quote tree even more confusing.
Dec 27, 2010It's bewildering that people do not realize how asinine it is to demand additional free time from others. Not only that, but to wheedle, cajole and whine for it to happen faster.Posted in: Mods Discussion
Mod makers are not your whipping boys.

It may sound cool, but its not. believe me.
Who are you people to say what's fun for others? Lay off.

that's why people are asking for it as a mod, not a change by Notch to the base game.
Dec 23, 2010A relatively trivial problem I noticed: teleporting (with goto or home or such) in this mod results in a data line detailing the X/Y/Z coordinates of your positions before and after. Right now, at least for me, it's showing the same value for "before" and "after"; that is, it's saying "Moved from: (X, Y, Z) to (same X, Y, Z)."Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Nothing serious, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
Dec 22, 2010Posted in: Mods DiscussionQuote from legosheep »They wont be risking their lives every 10 minutes. Even with reduced durability the pick will still last for ages. It just wont be indestructable and will require eventual return to the nether to replenish your dragon scale supply. Also, With the healing runes trips to the nether aren't all that dangerous.
kingbdogz has stated earlier in this thread that Ghasts, even triple-health ones, dropping Dragonscales are a placeholder for now. Until we know how difficult his new area, the Lair, and Dragons are to kill/tame/whatever, arguing as to how durable and effective Dragon equipment should be is rather spurious.
Dec 17, 2010Posted in: Mods DiscussionQuote from kingbdogz »There's actually no difference between this system and the previous system. Originally, you would craft 4 Blank Runes with a Smooth Stone Block. However, you would only craft 1 Magic Rune at a time.
Now, you craft 1 Blank Rune per Smooth Stone block, but you craft 4 Magic Runes at a time. So in the end the numbers are the same.
In my game, I'm still getting 4 blank runes per smooth stone block, after installing Advanced (with the appropriate required add-ons) on a clean minecraft.jar. Additionally, using a Gold Ore block with a hammer and a blank rune produces only one gold rune. This is with 5.00 -- didn't mention anything about fixing it in 5.10, but if you did, disregard this.
Dec 16, 2010Posted in: Mods DiscussionQuote from Vishnaborg »Quote from DragonFire606 »you made the dragon axe weaker wth?
Read the previous pages.
I apologize if this has been addressed, but I searched the last ten pages and only found things regarding the pickaxes.
But I believe he's talking about the Dragon Axe (not the pickaxe), which I've found to have the durability and chop speed of iron-quality axes instead of being superior to gemstone. I don't think anyone's brought this up yet; if they have, I do apologize.
Dec 6, 2010I realized this belatedly. Thank you, regardless. I tried using 7-zip, but it wouldn't let me add files to an archive. WinRAR works well enough, though.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dec 6, 2010I wasn't able to get this to work...Posted in: Minecraft Mods
I backed up minecraft.jar and renamed it (so I wouldn't try to edit the wrong copy), then opened the minecraft.jar in /bin with WinRAR. I then copied the two .class files from the download into the general minecraft.jar archive, deleted META-INF; closed and reopened it in WinRAR to confirm META-INF was gone and the filesizes of the two .class files I had installed in it were the same as the ones I had downloaded. I then opened Minecraft and opened one of my saved worlds in single player. Pressing the chat key did nothing. I made a new world. Pressing the chat key also did nothing.
I'm new to this, so it may be something obvious, but where did I go wrong?
