posted a message on WorldPainter - graphical & interactive map creator/generator

this tool is a bit overwhelming at start .. so maybe someone can point me to the right direction:

i have nasty chunkwalls on biome borders in a given map and i want to smoothen the transition between those biomes via worldpainter.
ideally height differences are smoothened out and biomesborders interleave in a zip like pattern.

so, how do i do that with worldpainter? :)

posted a message on Frustrating Problem with Launcher.

relax, a duplicate key in json syntax expression has nothing to do with your machine or OS specs .(but readingskills seem to be rare like superpower fo some)
hint: the game obviously worked quite well for him, ppl with slower pcs play older versions or adjust the settings, easy at it is. so blaming the hardware is just whataboutsim.

mojang suddenly changed the json format/structure and the old launcher has problem with interpreting, but nothing that cant be solved so far.

    solution here: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/java-edition-support/2985716-cant-download-minecraft-1-14-4

    update your launcher

That doesnt help when ppl like to stay with the java launcher for justified reasons. latest java launcher verson is 1.6.91 afaik (correct me if im wrong here) and it has problems with the new json format too.

the original 1.14.4 json file formatting is borked (linefeeds, CR and such) and has 2 new entries for the obfuscation maps that may bug the (java) launcher. Reformat the json (via a json editor) and remove the 2 entries PLUS* block launchermeta.mojang.com to prevent downloading the json again. Then put it analog to other versions in a "1.14.4" folder (or create a custom version) in Versions. launcher should (down)load all required files and execute.

    * blocking not needed when you create it as a custom version, adjust the id in the json accordingly

posted a message on Can't download minecraft 1.14.4

<3 when ppl give useless advice.
Had the same issue (legal version, but preferring the java launcher over the crappy new one). IF you look at the json file for 1.14.4 its a bit messed up (intentionally or not) compared to the old ones plus it has new entries for the obfuscation maps (and they seem to bug the launcher out in addition to the missing format). . I used a json editor to reformat the json file, removed the 2 obfuscation map entries + blocked launchermeta.mojang.com* to prevent loading the borked json(s). That worked.

here you get the original borked json and the 1.14.4 client
    https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Java_Edition_1.14.4

reformatted and edited json file (use at own risk ofc)
    https://workupload.com/file/yg8yZ63L

go to your versions folder in the minecraft directory, add a '1.14.4' folder, put this json (required name= "1.14.4.json") and optionally the client.jar from aboves link (required name = "1.14.4.jar" ) and start the launcher. it will download all missing libraries and start the game.

*alternatively create a custom version (change the id in the json accordingly) , then blocking isnt necessary
