posted a message on What is your typing speed?
As others, I started typing at a young age. I got my speed (117 highest) from playing MMO's - mainly Runescape, Conquer Online, and Eudemons online. Because of all that typing, I didn't realize it, my typing speed increased periodically. Once I was in 4th grade my typing speed was probably 70-80 WPM, though I never checked, and by 6th grade I actually checked and I got a steady 90-100 WPM. Now I am in 7th and depending on the keyboard get 100-115.

In 6th grade (2 years ago) I got 100 WPM, best in the whole grade. I have been using the computer since I was 6. It is so dumb, our communications teacher tried to teach us the home keys so we could have a proper finger stance on the keyboard, but I just lay them down on WASD and my other hand just lays there. Home keys are not necessary, I typed faster than the whole class without them.

Exactly!! I don't need the freaking home keys, and I got a average grade because I didn't use em' even though I typed 100 WPM+

    Booo.

I got 106, but only because I am using a crap keyboard as my other keyboard is outta batteries. Once I get a Mechanical keyboard my typing speed will increase dramatically.

He is building it, from the looks of it.

Follow j03's advice. I'd go with 4GB of RAM, I have 4 and I barely ever even go past 3.

As you've had a problem with ATI cards, I've had problems with NVIDIA cards. My 8600GT would overheat and have artifacts.

Anywho, I would go with the 5670. I have a 5570, next down to the 5670, and it runs all Valve games on max settings + Crysis at medium settings.

Well, I'll ask myself this question.
Would I rather buy a high-end gaming laptop for $1,200 or a mid-range, shiny, over-priced laptop made by Apple for $600 more (only at stock settings)

High-end gaming laptop, all the way!

EDIT: And I have two Windows 7 computers, none of which have ever had a single-virus. I win.

$1,200 you can make a high-end gaming PC, only need around $500 for a mid-range one.

Microsoft is superior, Apple is inferior. NO exceptions.

OT; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115986 for $600 this will play the Steam games and such.

It'd run it just fine, I'm guessing. Max settings on Valve games like TF2, I don't know about Crysis. Depends on the resolution of your monitor. I really suggest getting one from Newegg or custom-building it yourself, it is significantly cheaper.

If I could ONLY get a pre-built computer, I'd get this one

$500 and you get a quad-core, graphics card better than the 5450, and a 1TB hard drive. I have similar specs and I can max-out TF2 at 1280x1024 with like 40FPS. Crysis 2 runs 30FPS at the medium setting. If you have a 1080p monitor, performance will decrease though.

Intel HD is just the intel integrated graphics that a lot of laptops use, even if the laptop is upwards of $600. It is absolutely terrible at anything aside from maybe a movie, they can barely play Minecraft.

It probably runs crappy because it uses Intel HD graphics, integrated.
If you want a pre-built I'd go to Newegg. For the $400 they have some good ones.

This one would do it, but for like $500 there is better

You can build a computer like that for around $400, haha. Just don't buy pre-built, if you build it you save money.
If you want, I could throw together a list of parts for yah.
