Apr 30, 2012I would guess most people that come here and try to start a flame war have not played BTW. They probably just want forge compatibility so they can cheat ..errr... um make it easy by using Equivalent Exchange. This mod is designed to be stand alone using anything else would totally unbalance the design of the mod. AKA cheat. Challenges are what make a game/mod good, But like I said people bitching probably have not played the mod.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Alrighty, 3 more things. One, @xXsilentspyXx, I am using Optifine Smooth with BTW, and it works on normal texture pack perfectly. But on an HD texture pack, all the items have a graphical flurb (some transparent pixels that make it look like shi- *ahem* dung), so I'd just use the default texture pack. Two, this is the first mod to make me put my cake away from my redstone contraptions, and three a suggestion: Flowerchild, could you add the feature to convert wool into 2 string via the Mill Stone? It's an unbalanced conversion, but it would help with some of our shortages of string.
there is issues with optifine and btw with hd textures, specifically the handheld items like weapons. the creator of optifine is aware of it and it is caused by the forge support in optifine. Optifine thinks it is a full forge install and tries to do the forge support which breaks the textures.

I do believe it is not, makes your water invisible and stuff.
EDIT: on a past subject of plant drop duplication bug, it can also be done to saplings.
always install optifine last, it does work with the mod.

Current hot topics:
How to get wrought iron?
How to make a new page on the wiki?
When might the new update be ready for?
Also thanks to all involved in creating this mod.
If anyone knows some answers that would be great.
asking about mod updates is against the forum rules. '-NO asking for mods to update.' Mod developers find it very annoying.

I found the best way (for me, at least) for making double ingots was to melt them into their liquid state, take them to the anvil and the moment they start turning solid, work them and quickly put them in the slots and weld them. If you're fast enough, you should be successful.
timing is everything for sure, I ended up switching back to the old temperature scale in the config file. That helped with timing it right. Definitely tedious work.
Apr 25, 2012ok, how do you go about making a double ingot, ie double zinc ingot. I have a stone hammer and flux in the anvil, what temperature do the ingots have to be? very hot? or do you have to have unshaped zinc in a liquid state?Posted in: Minecraft Mods

he has yet to implement a proper agriculture system so anything from wheat farming to melon farming is buggy and might not work, sugar canes and cactus are the only things that work properly since all catus needs is sand and nothing next to or above it and sugar cane only requires dirt and water, remember that his dirt blocks are not the original vaniella dirt it is slightly altered, you can determine this by the fact that there are multiple types of dirt, mainly only distinguished by collor as only peat has a diffrent name but so far i have found 3 besides peat
wheat farms work. well at least the one I've got going.

Then why assume that someone else has the time to answer a question probably asked more times than you can count?
Please move along. This isn't the mod you're looking for.
Amazing how the internet has diminished peoples abilities to take time and read. RTFM!
Apr 24, 2012ok, this mod definitely makes it a challenge. I'm thinking the stone ie. granite is biome specific as are the ores? Even with a prospectors pick it is still a challenge to find ores. I've been working in my world for about 8 hours now and most of that is mining. All I've come up with is 58 coal. An open cave system I think would be the best way, however finding surface cave entrances is tough due to the gravity/dirt part of the mod. My advice to anyone starting a new world is get as many sticks as possible, I usually go for 2 stacks. Cause you will go through a lot of stone picks and axes.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
other then the frustration of trying to find ore this mod is worth the challenge...a lot more of one then some other big mods out there.
Apr 24, 2012destineternel posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)@sp614x, using the new A6 release there is still handheld item texture corruption when using 32x or higher textures when running better than wolves. I know you mentioned you were going to see what changed from the original preview of 1.2.5 A and later. Just letting you know just incase you might have started working on it. As usual thank you for the update, good stuff.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

I tried this and it didn't work, I deleted the TFC.cfg file in the config folder then started a new world and it still happened.
start with a fresh minecraft.jar and go through the install process, and delete the config directory and restart a new world. Thats what i usually do for beta stuff.

That's strange. I'm using 1i as well, but I have not encountered this bug... everything is working normally for me. Double check your install, maybe something is left from 1H, and that's the problem?
did you delete your old beta 1H tfc.cfg file like the op says with every new update? I did that and the support beam bug happened and this was a fresh jar install fresh directory, swapped back my beta 1H cfg file instead of the default beta 1i cfg file and it fixed it. However any new id's that bioxx might have added in beta 1i will not exist due to an old cfg file.bioxx, thank you for the hotfix. amazing mod!
Apr 22, 2012ok, the chopping down trees that turn into supports is an block id config file issue. I used the TFC.cfg from beta 1h and the trees do not chopdown into supports. however this could affect anything new that bioxx added to beta 1i.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Apr 22, 2012I started a new world with the beta 1i and get support beams when I cut down trees with a flint tool.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

I don't want the option to disallow multiplayer on my single player worlds... I want the option to KEEP MY SINGLE PLAYER WORLDS, SINGLE PLAYER. I don't want to have to connect to a glitchy server to play single player, I like to be able to play even without an internet connection. It is NOT much hassle just to copy a single player world into a server folder if you want people to join. Who cares about lazy people, they're lazy...
yea, it's too early to tell but I do hope they optimize and bug hunt the server side more so. Experiencing mild block lag and general mp bugs in a single player world sucks. Even though the server side is hosted locally on your computer the server can still experience performance issues. The ones not complaining are the ones most likely that have high spec'd machines. I did notice a mild fps increase and some chunk loading increase, but also have experienced some block lag at times and half rendered npc villages.
One unified code base is a good thing, but experiencing things that happen in SMP in a SSP world is a turn off.
Only time will tell...
