posted a message on Any way to safely run redstone into a faction base?

So I'm playing a faction server and I recently made a base. This base is your generic rich faction base with obsidian, water, slabs, etc. I put in a raid detection system and I want to connect it to various things inside the base. My only problem is that I have no idea how to run redstone safely into the base without creating a weak spot. Can any faction players who are good with redstone help me?

Fixed on my own after a little bit of work and frustration. Turns out that this past week I tried updating one of my display adapters (drivers) to get something to work. It didn't fix the problem and I didn't roll back the driver. Since I haven't tried launching MC a few days after that I forgot about updating it. So I found the driver that I used to have installed and reinstalled it. Thanks for your help anyways!

lol, Wurst doesn't guarantee op on any vanilla server. It can try to brute force authme passwords, that's it.

I know back in 1.8 all you had to do to op yourself was click a sign, I'm sure it still exists today in one form or another.

    Quote from Chriszz11»

I checked the server log and found that a player by the name of "ColdFuseon" had joined at around 1030 this morning. He was in the game for 5 minutes and the entire time he was there, the console was giving warnings such as "Player moved wrong" and "player moved too fast!". I white lsited the server until i can get it set up to be a little safer for public use. The only thing i cannot figure out is how he managed to get tnt and blow my boxes up the way he did in only 5 minutes as i didnt even have the resources needed to make tnt yet. Thanks everyone for the help!

All the "player moved wrong" messages show he was probably using a hacked client. Also if you are not a creative server ForceOP does exist.

If this is vanilla I would recommend whitelisting it... this could not have been a glitch (1 in a million chance). There are clients that find vanilla servers to grief, so somebody probably found your server that way and griefed it.

Try updating java and if that doesn't help delete minecraft from your computer completely and reinstall (you don't have to delete your worlds of course)

Didn't work, but I did need to update Java :).

My launcher keeps crashing, I've tried many different versions. Forge, Optifine, Vanilla 1.11.2, and finally Vanilla 1.8 (since other versions have been shaky). Same thing happens on every version. I press play, the launcher disappears and then after a minute reappears with an error message. This is the error message (from the Vanilla 1.8 client):

posted a message on Thoughts On Kids playing minecraft

I never really care as long as they are mature.. not the kinds of people talking about x rated things when I go on certain servers. (I hear x rated things on Mineplex it seems like daily). As long as they don't fall into this list:

    Hacker

    Hackusater

    Impersonator

    Generally immature

I'm fine with them. I know a lot of mature kids and then on the flip side I know a lot of kids who aren't mature. And in the end you can't really do anything about them.

These aren't really ideas but these are more buildings tips that are really useful for modern cities.

Use plenty of bonemeal for plenty of grass

Plenty of trees on the outside bordering it and on the inside

Don't make any roads less than 3 blocks wide

    Now here are my suggestions:

    City hall

    Police station

    Fire station

    Hospital

    Apartment buildings

    Stores

    Gas stations

    Strip malls

posted a message on What are some stupid ban/kick/jail reasons you have seen or experienced?
    Quote from Zarlog_Core24»

Alright, here is my story. I put it in a spoiler since it is quite long.

There is a server I joined in March 2014. It was probably the best server you will find. Very friendly community, back then all the staff knew exactly what to do and could do just about anything, not to mention that they were very nice too.

Around December 2015, a new player joined. He was not like other players, was very mature and was very friendly compared to others (all of the players on the server were friendly, but this one was best). So I decided to help him get started. I let him use my blaze farm and automatic melon farm, use parts of my base since I didn't need them, and I made him maxed diamond armor and tools. We started building things together (I love building, and so did this new player).

One day in April 2016 the server admins announced on the server forum that moderator applications were open. I applied and hoped for the best (I had been playing on the server for 2 years and was one of the most well-known players). This new player also applied. Well, I my application didn't get accepted but this new player's application did. So he became a staff member and I didn't (much to my disappointment, I had been waiting for this for a year). So I decided to throw a party for the new player who DID get accepted in my newly completed convention center, and it was the most ridiculous thing you would ever see on a server. Tons of players went to it and it was mostly throwing tons of splash potions of nausea, strength and healing. Lots of explosions and fireworks. I have a recording of it somewhere. It was probably the funnest thing I have ever done.

A few months after I joined that server in March 2014, another player joined. This guy started off OK but when he started donating and buying all the perks, he became the rudest player you will ever meet. Constantly messaging me rude messages telling me to stop complaining about him being rude to other players, and he got warned, muted, and banned several time, all for being rude to players. Fast forward to April 2016, I have just about had it and just want him banned once and for all. A few days after I report him, the staff applications open and he applied. Guess what? HE BECAME A MODERATOR. He had a filthy record of griefing, swearing, and being rude to players. I even reported him and he still became a moderator. I had a clean record, I had NEVER been rude to players, and I was very supportive of the community yet I did not become a moderator when I applied. For the first week he was not rude, but then after that all hell broke loose. Players who had clean records for 5 YEARS (this server started in 2011) suddenly got banned, kicked, muted and warned because of things that did not break the rules (such as pranking friends they knew IRL). They asked for the offenses to be removed from their profiles, and the server owner said "I trust his decisions and they will not be removed". Then, he starts dirtying MY clean record with warnings, over things like flattening land, buildings that are "too fancy and modern", and "redstone lighting causes lag".

On June 25, 2016 , the unthinkable happened. I opened my Minecraft launcher to check for griefs on my property. So I clicked the server name in the list, it goes to "logging in" and then a horrible sight: "You are banned from this server! Reason: griefing". Knowing that I was not a griefer, I immediately freaked out and went on the forum to write a dispute. Guess who banned me? THE ABUSIVE MODERATOR. He replied with a screenshot of what I "griefed". The server had prizm and so they used it to see who griefed something. The screenshot did not look familiar in any way to me, and so I asked some questions about it. Rather than answering it, the thread got locked. I knew something was wrong, and so I asked the nice moderator (the player in my "best" entry) to investigate for me, knowing he would happily do it (he was very supportive of me getting unbanned). Since I was not banned on the forum, he checked the ticket and took more screenshots of the area. I was surprised to find that it was a house that one of my friends owned. I KNEW I didn't do it then, and more investigation found out that the moderator had actually griefed the building and used some hack to make it look like I did it. I started a thread on the forum saying that this guy needs to get demoted and banned PERMANENTLY, and before anyone could see it or reply the thread gets locked and deleted. As a last resort, I contact the server owner and tell him. He never replied, and it has been 2 weeks. Then the abusive moderator goes and tells some other staff members who don't even know me that I am a "horrible griefer and troll" and, just to be mean, all of them put like 20 bans on my profile just to annoy me and saying really mean things in the reasons like "Bye zFa!!!! We won't miss you!", "Wow, it's so great to be rid of you!" and "You are a horrible person and should never have even been allowed on this server in the first place. We are so much better than you." Then they ban me from their OWN servers before I can even contact them and tell them that none of this is true. What's worse is that they use MCBans on all of them and now I have a horrible rating on it and can't even join most servers now.

I had projects that took me MONTHS to complete on that server, I had made several friends and was very well known and now I lost all of it because of this.

If you told MCBans about this they might be understanding enough to take you off of their record.

Ahem. How can a 2 block high, one block wide creature put a block of tnt through its mouth? The gunpowder isn't likely either,as it is basiclly eating other creepers.

    Who said creepers weren't cannibals?
