    "You have found a clue to new research" (from Thaumometer)

    Is this just a remnant of the old research / scrying? Since as far as I can tell there is no random research anymore.

    I didn't have quill and paper so I'm not sure if this would be resulting in research pages or not, if I did. If so, that would be annoying since you can just click on the ones you want now.

    I'm pretty sure you're going to have to explain what that means. The only thing 'hard' about BTW is mobs and finding resources. And this is relative to the world more than the mod.

    Learning all the recipes can be hard, but there's a wiki for that. I myself can't figure out what is 'difficult' that would even possibly be adjustable...oh and there is a config that can change the rules a bit but I'm not sure how anything could be changed to help with "learning" BTW.

    And if you mean alter crafting etc...then that would essentially be not-BTW and therefore not learning BTW. Just need a little more info, plus there is always the forum, where the only help you wouldn't get is when asking when he's going to update :P

    Lol yeah, but it should require a stack of slimeballs now. Aye I have the default limited spawning on...I might just set up some golems for now. And hope this changes in vanilla or FC (Facetious Christ) changes the mod to BTSFE (BT Slimes F'n everywhere). Trying to find a mod that will work and not having any luck.

    Started terraforming a bit...I'm not going to replace all the grass with stone or anything, that would look horrible. I have begun to half-block everything which would make the entire grounds around my town/castle/fortress mob free...but that would make the normal everyday building a little less 'fun' (in the DF sense). It's something I plan on doing in the future when I have decided my boundaries to be 'established' and I do more adventuring to encounter intentional peril, but I'm not there yet. And hate to do something large scale for a problem MC might fix itself.

    Open ended question, not a request:
    I love hostile maps and they used to play well with BTW, but now (for obvious reasons) some of the hardcore features of BTW don't. I'm just curious if you've given any thought to compatibility? Or have talked with any hostile makers on some sort of integration. I used to love the trade-off of hardcore buckets for being able to stack potions, but now the rules of BTW have changed enough that there can be some ways you are 'supposed' to play a map that BTW kind of breaks. Again, not asking if you will, just curious if you've thought about it.

I also learned that they can jump fences...great, spent a good deal of time putting up a fence, (wood fence on cobble wall) and they just jump right over it. Grrrrr.

    Ok I've been away from the game a little bit...not a real long while but a change in either MC or BTW has made my primary map nearly unplayable...well it is un'play'able it's 100% work.

    Slimes...ok I guess there was a change so they can spawn on the surface, but seriously they are spawning everywhere and 75% of spawns appear to be slimes. I either have to ignore them (audibly annoying) and the little ones still somehow get in places that no mobs have spawned in before, or kill them which wears out my tools, fills my inventory, chews my hunger up, and makes killing xp trivial By the time I kill them off...it's night time...and they are back, so I have to ignore some of them.

    Is there a way to 'turn them off' ? I seriously don't get their spawn criteria either...they've gone from rare to beyond flat-lands explosive. And it's like ~80% large ~20% med and a small one here and there. Making it less likely water will kill them, and killing them temporarily making the problem worse.

    I'm near a swamp but not 'in' it, but with large biomes I guess the border biome is larger...but even then, if I lived right in the middle of the swamp the spawn rate seems 10x excessive. Especially for a mob that doesn't seem to despawn on it's own. (maybe that's more of the problem...dunno)

    Short answer as I understand it:

    You load a modded world without that mod, anything that has an ID unique to the mod becomes air. I.O.W. deleted. That's the scenario to avoid.

    I happen to have inside information that the "Red" team, as they like to be called, will be infiltrating BTW servers and specifically attacking / destroying any and all vertical windmills on said servers. As I understand it they are also looking for ways to infiltrate peoples' homes and delete any worlds on people's personal computers that also have these structures, regardless if they play exclusively single player.

    You have been warned.

    In other news, the "Purple" team....well they still haven't successfully grown any hemp and are blissfully ignorant of the hostilities that surround them.

    Is creeper-camo possible or too involved? Current texture pack I use tones the high contrast almost neon-y look of them to more of...well grass and they blend in very well with the trees and grass of the typical forest/plains biome colors (of the same pack)...but of course stick out in the non grassy and swampy biomes. I had seen it before (kinda) but it was a 'seasons' pack, forget the artist, and all it was was an entire texture pack swap based on what season it was.

    Doesn't really effect my game either way since I'm 99% in biomes where they can hide, and when underground...well it really doesn't matter what color they are.

    Just realized FC completely stole the idea of brimstone from another mod, only they called it sulfur. I think he's using the name from the Bible as a cover so no-one realizes the truth.

    Lol I was just brought my first piece of 'sulfur' today. Brilliant, not how I was expecting to acquire it. Well honestly I gave up for a while in trying to figure out how the new block(s) and items related until it was essentially dropped in my lap. (not quite though, still had to murder)

    Been doing my best to avoid learning how things 'happen' with the updates, but I just have one concern / request. If I remember you don't really want to add anything to the map generation...I thought I remember that, not sure.

    True or not, for any 'secret' update would you likely warn that a new block type has been added to the world? I.E. something that would require new chunks.
