Gotta know how to craft EVERYTHING Without even trying to recall the crafting recipies, you should know it off your head,
Finding diamonds is hard but I think you have to set your own goals to complete minecraft For YOURSELF, but there is no 'Completing minecraft'
No mastering it Either, But My goal is to get a golden apple, thats even Harder than getting Diamond!
First i have to get 72 gold Make it in to blocks, then find an apple in a mob spawner i'm pretty sure.

Currently the only way to get an apple is by killing Notch... :/

Oh come now, you need to be a little more creative than "You can't master a sandbox"

Come on people, think of some examples of mastery over minecraft!

You are missing the point. Minecraft is a game of creation. There are GOOD artists, dancers, and actors, but none have mastered their art. There is always more to learn.

This may be a little weird, but I have to be careful about not abusing the death function to restore my health. When I get stuck in doing this or using peaceful, even that feels like cheating to me.

Once I finish my summer work, I shall add a list of mods I like.

Rhinogek - Im assuming you mean you already suggested it? My apologizes!

matishka - I would hope it wouldn't look tacky. I thinking of a rich light that would be good for setting a mood or making things look magical. I trust Notch to make it non-tacky.

You have a mac. That's your problem.

It happens to a lesser degree on a pc laptop I tried using.

Ever time I play minecraft, my laptop gets very hot. Does anyone else experience this problem, and is there a solution to it? I have a mac and if the model matters a lot I can find that out.

    Thanks!

Okay Yay! Glad you logged in. If you can log in ever once I think it is the computer's fault. I don't think Notch is currently getting people for stealing Minecraft yet, if that calms your thoughts. Good job for buying it by the way :biggrin.gif:

I go that message from playing on a different computer, and I definitely have a legal copy. I think it is not a perfect system of detection and will trigger false alarms, I would not be worried.

My only issue, as has been already stated, is that it is not very useful for contraptions and building. I think it should remain as an optional mod. There is only so far I think this game should become realistic.

I have used well over 100 mods, and written an older one, and made my own texture packs, etc etc

The point I ave is: every mod is so unique that you can not lump them all into one category. Are the vast majority of mods unbalanced, poorly contructed, or just plain not that interesting? Yes.

But we are talking about gems in a sea of ****.
The gems are truly something else.
I could make a list, but I don't even know anymore what is worth using, too many mods to keep track of.

Thank you for saying this. I was hoping to avoid being to general. I am planing to add a section to the main post that discusses the mods I really like and think would either benefit the vanila or don't do what annoys me about most mods.

once again a vanilla player whose reasons suggest he has never actually seen any mods other than toomanyitems, sdks gun mod and some other ridiculous game changing examples (even the yogbox looks too over the top for me)

my advice is and always will be, balkans weapon mod or better than wolves

Quite the contrary. I have knowledge of some simple mods that I quite enjoy, but will never download. BetterGlass, gameplay improvements, better than wolves aswell, and many others.

I'm a new player, and am still enjoying vanilla. I have a question for those of you playing vanilla or mostly so: do you use any map mods, or just the vanilla ingame map? I find it really frustrating to finally fill a map and then die somewhere I can't find because my map was lost.

I have not used any map mods, but some days I would love one. My personal issue with maps is that they are way to small. I would to be able to combine them to make bigger maps etc.

    Yes, why have change?
It makes me uncomfortable and makes me want to start boycotting video games.

I think you have missed my point. I love game updates. I merely want to discuss how they may impact the current way I like to play minecraft and what I love about it, or whether they will change why I love it.
