Yes but the bats would have to be a 'lil rare and there'd have to be a warning, also if they get too close to a torch they'd be set on fire and die very quickly.
I don't want to walk around and randomly find out I've been infected, that'd suck D:

Also there should be randomly generated towers that vampires live in, so if you DID want to become a vampire, you'd go find one XD

I think you should only become a vampire if you're killed by an npc or player vampire (respawn and the countdown would start)

Everyone has different dislikes and opinions of things, a toggle feature for most things is essential to a good game in my opinion..

    posted a message on Cartography
Now, There's been a similar suggestion before, but this is a liiiittle different...

First of all, here's the new item(s) this idea would introduce:

    Map and Pencil
    Blueprint or Creation Instructions:
    [] [] []
    [] [] :Coal:
    :|: [] :Frame:

If not coal perhaps charcoal, which would be gained from burning logs or wood.

This idea includes a new graphical element, a map.
The map would be accessed with the 'M' key, it would display an overhead view of what you've discovered of the world... it would be scrollable.
But no, you do not 'discover' areas until you use the map item!
Using the map item will print the area you on your map each time you use it, of course it'll only display the top of the area, as in, the highest blocks, if you change the area at all, using the map again and having changed parts in your view will update it.

Of course it'd only do it as long as you're at the highest point, or high enough for it to be able to reach the highest point in the radius: e.g you couldn't go into a cave and discover the world above, you'd have to be on top.

There would also be a cave variant which would be more like marking the 'air' blocks underground, so you have a map of tunnels.

Hope I explained it fairly clearly..

EDIT: Taken ideas of the posters into consideration.

I think he doesn't take ideas in consideration unless he likes it :tongue.gif:

I like it, but also dislike it. Maybe some kind of toggable function?

yeah, i guess you would have to make it so you could turn it on/off when setting up a server

I'm sure notch would add that for most of these ideas, I mean I'd assume so.

Notch doesn't seem to take ideas into consideration unless there's some a big support behind it, so we must gain support!

I'm sorry for the offtopicness but Slenderman was NOT created by something awful, it is based on german folklore and there are multiple folklore creatures with the same magical powers.

The guys at somethingawful just used that name I suppose.

As well there would be... ONE MORE side effect to these monsters, they would promote companionship and team work on Multiplayer. To have a partner with you in a land full of scary unknown things would comfort you and force you to interact with each other and even force you to sacrifice things for each other. Even if the companion was part of a enemy guild or perhaps a troll off of these forums.

In the end these scary monsters would being a fresh sense of terror to the game, it would keep players on their feet, and most importantly it would promote union ship and trust between players.

That'd be very good, it'd make the game much more interesting and I support this idea, even if it does make me turn around every 2 minutes to see if something is behind me. (Is true, I really do turn around every 2 minutes, actually, every 50 seconds or so)

Also you won't ever know how many typos and mistakes I made in that, >_<

I love that idea I would have to put it in my secret base (I make a base above ground as cover behind a painting is stone which you mine through and theres a massive drop with ladders which leads to my real base which only my friends would know about)

Does that make me your friend?

    also I like the idea.

No I'm kidding, good idea, but how will it work with SMP? Will it be in SMP? Or single player only?

    I like the idea.

I'd totally hide a bunch of diamonds in a doublechest somewhere in a cave, then leave clues to find it. and shove loads of traps in the cave like tnt, like a wooden floor with a wooden pressure plate so it makes it a bit harder to notice it, and tnt under it, right infront of a chest, then you walk on it and BOO- ok, too much? sorry just having ideas.
