    I actually was wondering the same thing... if there is a config option to disable the printer. This could be useful for server owners who don't want users to have that option. Definitely not essential for me, but it would be kind of nice.

    I know! How did that even work? He blindly drifted in there with no idea what to expect, shot the guardian a few times and he was dead. I'm thinking: was that even the same dragon? :blink:

    I can also confirm that it is "possible" to kill the Chaos dragon with the new shield system. But, it's not as easy as Brandon makes it look in his video. :P

    Thanks for the quick reply! I'll start by isolating mods. I am allocating 6GB. I'm thinking that should be more than enough. But, I'm running an AMD Radeon R7 200, so that might be part of the problem. But like I said, it worked amazingly well in 1.8.9. In fact, I remember being blown away that it could render all those bits without affecting gameplay!
    By the way, in the "Client Preformance Settings" (there's a typo in there BTW ;) ), with the "max faces ..." setting, does a smaller number mean better performance? I adjusted the "Maximum number..." and disabled "Minimize latency ..." which helped a little at the cost of delayed loading, which is better than lag.

    Anyone have any idea why I would experience serious performance problems with this mod in 1.9 but not 1.8.9? In my 1.9 build, any chunk where I have a lot of chiseled blocks placed, I get major frame drops whenever I place or break a block. It seems anything that causes a chunk update causes my game to freeze for a good second. On the same PC hardware in 1.8.9 (but with some different mods), I had no performance issues at all, even though my base was built almost entirely with chiseled blocks. If the modlist might be significant, here's the pack I'm using.

    I love this! One question on the No Taint option. Many important components require a tainted shard: thaumostatic harness, essentia distillery auxiliary upgrades, etc. I usually dump a bunch of flux into a far away chunk that has a lot of accessible crystals until they become tainted shards, but without necessarily "tainting" the land. Is that part of the No Taint option? Or, is there a way to avoid even that (besides the obvious option of giving up flight and distillery upgrades)?

    at the center of the chaos dragon its island is somting called ''chaos crystal" it seems like a block and waila says i can break it with my draconic wand of power but i have been mining it for like 10 minutes stil not broken and i saw that u where an encoder i would love some more info btw i killed the dragon all the crystals i just dont know what to do now pls help


    Make sure your staff is only set to break a single block. I was unable to break it when my size and dig depth were greater than one.

    Snapshot 9 seems to have fixed the crystal synching issue for me. I managed to take down the chaos guardian twice, and it... well... it wasn't impossible. It also fixed the Information Tablet crash.


    I was wondering about one thing. I was not able to break the chaos crystal right away after killing the dragon. It would go to about 98%, then start over. After a while, I decided to reduce the size and dig depth of my draconic staff to 1. Then I could break it. However, I'm not sure if it was that action that allowed me to break it or just the passage of time. It did seem like the lightening dramatics slowed down at about that time.


    Then I broke it and flew to the outer ring to watch the show. Very nice! The only problem was that I then realized I had only picked up 3 of the shards. Time for another round!

Then you have to quickly destroy it again before he regains too much health. But it sounds like the state of the crystal isnt being synced with the client properly.     Ah! I was wondering if that was the case. Nice! There's a part of me that hopes you'll be able to fix it, because I love the idea of the reigniting crystals (as long as I can see them and destroy them), and there's a part of me that hopes you won't. ;)

    Let me know if I can give you any more details. I'm running FTB Infinity Evolved: latest version, default configs and mods except I've enabled Chicken Chunks and upgraded Draconic Evolution to snapshot 7.

    I do leave the end when my flux capacitors (2) run out, but the regen usually happens before I leave. There will be no crystals, but he'll still regen and not take any hits. When I leave to charge my capacitors and return, then I see the crystals and can destroy them. Then I can hit him again.


    I did travel to a new chaos island. At first I thought this fixed the problem because I was able to get him under 50% health. Then the regen started. Again, no crystals until a few minutes later. I got a few hits in and it happened again. By the time the second crystal reappeared and I destroyed it, he was back to 100% health.


    I can try resetting the end, but I'm going to take a break first. I'm a growing weary of this battle right now. It was fun at first, but after spending hours constantly shooting arrows at this guy only to have to start all over again, it's getting a little old. This has the potential to be a fun and epic battle. I could even imagine eventually killing him even with the regen thing, but it would take so long, it wouldn't be worth it.

    Nope. I was wrong. After fighting for a while in Snapshot 7, his health bar once again spontaneously maxed out, and he became invincible again. I checked for crystals. There were none. But, if I leave The End and return, I find that one of the crystals has been reactivated. I can destroy it, then hit the dragon again, get him down in health a little bit. Then after a few minutes, his health bar regenerates and the whole thing starts over again. Is this the intended behavior? Are the crystals supposed to reactivate themselves? And if so, why can I not see active crystals unless I leave the end and return?

    I sure hope this is a bug, because if it's the intended behavior, it doesn't seem worth the trouble.


    Also, interacting the the tablet crashes the client. I think this may have already been reported as a bug though.

    Thanks 6210classick! Snapshot 7 definitely seems to have fixed the problem. I've taken about 1/3 of his health so far and no spontaneous regens!

    It's still a tough fight, but it's no longer impossible. Ooh! This is going to be fun!!
