    I think it's better that new magic mods get created. Stagnation is a huge problem, as seen with all the "backport to 1.7.10" complaints and how buildcraft and IC2 are unused/boring due to not being updated and changing hands too often.


    Thaumcraft has remained popular because of it's phoenix style rebirth that shuffle the features and add new things while abandoning others, creating a new mod every MC update.

    Man I'm sad to see thaumcraft get put on hold, but I wish you the best of luck Azanor with your other endeavors.

    I'm happy I got to contribute to one of the best magic mods and get inspired to create my own mod.


    this forum Thread has shaped me in many ways and I still remember coming here during classes to discuss thaumcraft ideas and mechanics since 2010 or 2011(6-7 years)

    ps. I do not know the terms of your last set of contributions but it is my hope to see more of your work in future Thaumcraft versions. The last server I ran featured IE for tech and TC for magic brought together because of their consistent visual style.


    New contributions can always be made :P, but I leave it up to Azanor to do what he wants before I offer suggestions bundled with assets.

    well, whenever you remake Thaumcraft, you always improve it in some way or another, even though people complain about old features not being re-implemented. It's always fun to see what each version brings to the table.

    as the co-creator of IE, I understand the temptation to redo a mod, or improve upon old features.

    most likely a symbol made from scratch.

    I made a banner like that for the cultists, although, I added a crown and some ornate patterns to it, so it kinda represents a schism/ alternate version of thaum that the cultists are part of.

    Actually, before my friend dropped out, I was going to be doing the textures and models for the mod. I can't code but I can handle the artistic side of things. I'm by no means intending to be a freeloader. Thanks though :)

    I've been "the idea guy" with non-minecraft projects. I cringe everytime those memories pop up. I was 15-16 back then...
    I don't want other people to make the same mistake ;P

    most people have their own ideas, nobody wants to team up with the infamous "idea guys". Make assets, and other useful things. if you want to make a mod , you'll have to contribute, because everybody has ideas, only those who can turn ideas into actual things are successful.

    posable models would be a pain, 3d printed objects are best when you don't do anything too fancy. I do have some Immersive engineering models planned, since my old .TCN files are unable to be 3d printed, even if i convert them to .OBJ.

    I had something like that planned for myself. but not crimson cult exclusive. more like a cool lineup of some of my best models since nobody seems to be as interested in funding me on patreon.

    I have a nice idea, which kinda mimics the capacitor blocks but in a better way. What if we add a machine that creates a portable node?


    the node would serve as a temporary aura storage inside a sealed container that can be opened and closed. the node is not a true node, but a synthetic creation that only works like a battery and has to be recharged with Liquid essentia in order to replenish its aura. if handled without care it turns into a hungry node that replenishes itself based on what it eats,but also creates a lot more flux due to its destructive and twisted nature.


    hooking up bellows the node container boosts its aura output, but obviously empties it faster.

    think of it as a Aura based counterpart of the reservoar :D

    Because i mimic medieval/gothic architecture, which doesn't have a ton of colors on the exterior. it keep things somewhat realistic. the only time i'll use color is when i make my japanese castle. If i use color on the exterior its usually in the form of banners and other decoration.
