I guess I don't understand... I just went back to the link from your first post to minecraftcustomizer and there's no chest texture... Have you just not done one yet? Are you planning on it? I'm not mad or anything I'm just confused on how I get a texture that doesn't look like the default chest in my game.

I downloaded this pack from minecraftcustomizer. And in the terranin.png, there's a beautiful chest, but when I place a chest in game, it looks like the default one. Anyone know why that would be? I used the most recent HD patcher on a fresh minecraft.jar... I don't have any mods.

Hi. I'm going to try and start learning the ins and outs of redstone. Can anyone tell me if it works "properly" on SMP right now? Or should I just practice in single player?

...jesus christ, we don't want an RPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (In Chris Crocker voice) LEAVE MINECRAFT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't? I've seen this game as a form of RPG from the beginning... You put in more and more time, and get more and more riches... That's the basis of any RPG. In minecraft, there weren't "levels" or "skills" but there was still the amount of iron/gold/diamond you had which was basically the same thing. I'm liking all the new stuff because it encourages you to fight monsters and do out of the ordinary things.

I love the new mobs with the exception of mooshrooms, and the new features which make everything more lifelike (sprinting, animations for bow & eating, hunger & food poisoning, rivers, oceans, strongholds, abandoned mines, ravines, nether ruins, etc.) As you can see I have NO PROBLEM with the new updates! I love them!

Yeah. Sprinting is awesome. Also being able to "charge up" the bow is lots of fun. Shooting ghasts out of the sky is VERY satisfying!

Alright. There's a lot of hate and animosity flying around these days for all the recent updates. But I think that there's even more good things to be thankful for in all these updates! So please, tell us what you love and why!

    I'll start!
    1. Enderman: He's freakin awesome! It's the first mob that is actually SCARY. He's extra tall, super silent, and kinda just moves around like a scary ghost and as soon as I see one, all I can think is "don't look don't look don't look!". Love it!
    2. Nether Ruins: Also awesome. So fun to build a portal and just explore the vast lava-filled chasms in the nether. They're just such HUGE open spaces.
    3. Glass panes: It's about time! I can finally make windows and overlooks without using whole blocks! I also love that you can walk "in" the block they occupy, along with fences. Epic!

I feel like potions should have more positive effects... or MORE effects... Right now theres... regen, speed, haste (does what?) water breathing, and fire resistance? And there's waaay more negative effects

I don't know how many of you have tested the "glass panes" but the collision with fences needs to be the same as that. Where you can actually walk into the square that the fence is occupying, but not the fence itself.

posted a message on Why I don't like the Terrain Generation
I agree completely with OP. New terrain is less awesome, there aren't mountains everywhere, areas are way too huge...
I miss there being mountains in ALL biomes, and forests weren't as effing huge...

BUMP FOR GREAT JUSTICE. But seriously. I get this error as well.. Windows 7, 4gig ram, 64 bit... Everything is updated but it just crashes ALL THE TIME. I just want to play my game for more than 10 minutes without java failing. Argh.

    It's cuase' you're on a Windows. :tongue.gif:

Wow. Thanks for being so incredibly helpful. I had no idea it was as easy as spending a ludacris amount of money on a Macbook Pro! I'll just go buy one and then I won't have this issue anymore. Thank you SO much for helping me!

But seriously. Anyone here on the forums that can actually help me? It's super obnoxious and happens so frequently it ruins the play experience.

Alright. I wish I had more details, but basically. I have a win7 laptop. I can provide more specs if needed. I JUST formatted the computer three days ago, so it's clean, no cluttering programs or anything. And minecraft will still (I had this problem before as well) crash randomly.

It's very frequent, I'd say I can't play for more than 5 minutes without it crashing. I've tried "run as administrator" to no avail

posted a message on Why powered rails are quite excellent, despite people whining
Personally I agree with most of your opinions and ideas, but I think boosters don't give enough of a boost. While yes, we didn't have a use for gold before, gold is pretty rare. If you already had 3 stacks on your old map, ok cool, it wont be hard for you to make tons of boosters. But when you start a new map, you find gold in small increments steadily throughout the game. I think boosters should give roughly 25-50% more speed than they currently do. But other than that I really really like them
