ok so lately I have been on a server with a few guys from a forum i go on.
playing suruvival.
and I built my house, and as my usual routine, i dig down to 12 depth and start branch mining.
But this time, I done different.
I mined out an area.
here is a picture c:
So as you can see, it is quite big.
Measurements as of now:
29 blocks wide.
83 blocks long.
5 blocks high.
So 29x83 = 2407
then times that by 5 = 12035
Then I added roof lighting so slimes can spawn.
There is 1148 torches all up.
With all the cobble I have collected, I have started to build a mob trap.
picture:
The machine at the end of part 1, where the mobs floated up and out of the glass tube and you swatted them with your sword; that's what I was referring to as an xp machine.
ahhhhh, true.
in my second video, I have them automatically die by lava and their drops drop onto 2 trapdoors.
Which I can open and let the drops fall to me.
But no XP, but I see how you could use what you were thinking.
Well, you arranged and built your structures to a point where they flow together. Plus you have resources flow in from mob traps and naturally. I really like your designs. It must have taken you many months to do all this.
I like your xp-machine, will try to emulate that idea somewhere in my world.
XP-machine?
if you are talking about my mob trap, it doesn't get you XP.
If it were, it would be ridiculously overpowered.
You only get XP from when the 'player' kills them unfortunately.
WOW!
You did a fantastic job. I am a new player and just started playing last week. My house is a hole in the wall...LOL
How long did all this take you? I would like to start doing this, but I heard when 1.9 comes out, you will need to start all over again. So right now, I am just familiarizing myself with the basics.
