Have you tried deleting everything and reinstalling beforehand? Also, are you using vanilla minecraft?

I've seen this done before on a few mods. For example, the Dragon Mount mod has this functioning in the neck and tails of the dragon models. A better example would be the model of the Taintacle from the Thaumcraft mod collection. I'm currently trying to make a mob that has a similar spine-like feature and I know it will take layering bones in some way. So far though, I can't seem to find the option in Blockbench or Cubik Studio to make this happen. Anyone have an idea? If it can't be done in either of those softwares, what software might do this? If there is a software, what does it take to put this together? I appreciate any feedback!
This is the type of spine construction I'm referring to:
blockA>blockB>blockC>blockD>blockE>blockF... and so on.
Model made by Azanor I believe.

Thank you for the response! The video helps with giving it an inventory, but my model is already functional in that sense. Unfortunately right now I'm trying to figure out how to make the model's lid flip open when a player right clicks it. As in the physical animation of the lid flipping up. It isn't the same part of the block that rotates on chests either, it's a custom model and has a different piece I'm trying rotate. If there's any answers to this I'm still needing the help- appreciate any feedback.

I found an answer in this reddit that worked for me. https://www.reddit.com/r/MinecraftForge/comments/dg5q53/failed_to_download_file_the_file_contents_differ/
You need to replace the jopt-simple-4.5 file with this:
To find the jopt-simple-4.5, go to your roaming folder. It should be here:
The file in the last folder above ^ is the one you want to replace. It should be a jar file, same as the link I sent.
This worked to load Optifine 1.14.4. He said it only works for Mac, but I got it working on Windows as well. Let us know if this works for you or not.

If you're making a model in Blockbench and aren't sure how to get the dimensions for your model, this is a method I found useful. I put together a short and sweet tutorial for doing so. If anyone feels that there is a faster way of doing so, please share.

I've looked at various tutorials for modeling mobs in Blockbench, but some tutorials have stated that doing so isn't possible in any version but for Pocket Edition. That and Pocket Edition tutorials are the only tutorials I've found or it's outdated.
Certainly there's a way to model mobs in 1.14.4 PC minecraft, right? If it's impossible for Blockbench, is there a different software I can use? Any help is appreciated!

There is a very simple animation I need done for a custom model I'm working on. It will function almost identically to that of a chest - one part of the model will rotate upward when the player right clicks it, then drop down when they exit the menu. The model I have is complete except for the animation, but how would I go about animating this as a Tile Entity? Would I save it differently? Then where should I save it to? I'm assuming it will be different than a simple .json file.
On a side note, I made the model in Blockbench but I also need to know how I should go about animating it. Is there a certain software I can use that will save it the way it is suppose to be? Essentially I just need this model to function the way a chest functions. I've searched around but haven't found any similar threads to this. If anyone knows, the help will be greatly appreciated! Or if it's already been solved a link to said thread would also be wonderful.
