Back up your saves/texture packs and delete the .minecraft folder and the minecraft.exe
Re-download Minecraft.exe
Launch Minecraft - it should "update", wait for it to finish "updating" and exit minecraft
Put the saves/texture packs you backed up back into the .minecraft folder.
Start up minecraft, and before you log in go to "options" in the bottom right corner of the window, and then click "force update", and log in as usual, that might solve the problem.
Every time I try to update to 1.3.1 or try to download the jar again the update bar stops around 2% and stops. The launcher doesn't freeze or anything it just stops loading. Then after awhile its says fatal error occurred (4): connection reset receiving: lwjgl.jar 2%

Why you want to join the server? This server looks stunning. I love playing mmos and minecraft RP servers. This one seems to be the most legit one I've seen. I roleplay when ever i can. I was alos excepted onto the whitelist when the server had the old factions and map

I also like to adventure out once in while and maybe get some loot. Some day I wish to build up an army worthy of protecting even the biggest city.
Why you want to join the server: I love hardcore role playing and pvp and this server fills that criteria for me. I love all the pluggins especially the iconomy (I love servers with this mod).
